I have tested many dimms on the asus in 5:4 mode, some work ok some don't.cas3 is a nogo with nearly all of them.
I pretty much decided its a bios timing issue rather than a ram issue.
Here is an example.
I have 4 3700 gold rev 1 modules, all are samsung based with the same SPD etc, only 2 will work 5:4 and they are amazing..the other 2 bork out at 290fsb 5:4 and error like mad with any timings.
same 2 awesome dimms will NOT run 5:4 in the DFI875 revB at any speed...so whats to blame???
Most 875 boards seem limited 5:4 to 285fsb or so..there after you will have to run 3:2.
Aysnc is a weird issue with high fsb's, it seems you have to go thru many dimms to find an ideal pair that work ok...most like i say are good to 285 or so.

will the 3700EB get me where i want with 3.3V?
