Well Cactus, how about the 3200EB 1gb Kit on a DFI NFII B!
Here you have some benches at 235fsb on the DFI NFII B, CPC enabled. Still playing with my new EB samples, so this is a preliminary result. Buffered of course.
Round 2 of the 3200EB 1gb Kit on a DFI NFII B.
At 240fsb now on the DFI NFII B, CPC enabled withe the PC3200 EB at 3.0v. Buffered Sandra results.
Edit: I forgot to say this was completely stable. I ran memtest86+ test 5 in a loop for 13 passes :) 3dmark ran fine.
Andy you think you can get some 1GB 3200EB/3500EB results for A64?
Cheers :toast:

the Aopen isn't a odd choice at all.
consider how the whole A64 has unfolded in the past few months.
Asus is barely a blip on the radar.
EPox isn't even on the map, and Abit has been plagued with problem after problem, including thier A64 option.
all the "old" companies that were the best for overclocking aren't even a blip on the radar as far as A64 OC'ing goes.
these days it's all about the Gigabyte and Shuttle.
sometimes the chaintech...
so why not Aopen too?
;)
needless to say, Anandtechs results were exceptionally impressive for a unmodded board, and a simple review :D
looks like this Aopen is definatly worth taking a look at.
a few volt mods, and the 3400 and some good ram, and that looks like it would be one hell of an amazing set up.
I would if I had one ;(
I don't work at OCZ Sunnyvale where they have all that cool stuff. I know that bigtoe has some production EB RAM on the way. He has an A64, maybe we can twist his arm.
THERE IS A NEW BIOS RELEASE FOR THE 89MAX
as of yesterday night when I checked their site.
its description is the same as the last release but Im wondering have any of u specially the man who started this thread tried the new bios and seen any chances in available voltages or frequencies?
I am extreemly interested in this board!
89MAX looks like a good board if it had >1.7v vcore and 2.9+ vdimm :)
That must be a nice AMD64 3200+ cpu too to be able to run that with 1.55v max vcore and 2.8v vdimm board.
Its nothing special Eva...;)
2 x 512 + DFi NFII B + T(RCD) 2 + CPC ON + 240 1:1 + 3.0V + 37XX/34XX :slobber:
Just to note, this is what i got on my NF7 @240x11, 11-2-2-2 edit using my Level II BH5 really close bandwidth on the EB, considering this is close to where they top out, them EB are really quite good :slobber:
Andy, Ryan, ricjax.
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for your input. I feel a lot better now. It looks like these sticks aren't afraid of tight timings and high speed.
One question though, ricjax. Was that screenie you showed 3Dmarkable? I would be seriously impressed if it is.
Not nervous anymore and now looking forward to my delivery :)
nice, do the PC3200EB work as well as the 3500 ? How about them 3700EB sticks ?
Ok guys they look good, but what in god's name is up with the price. You see a PC3200 stick on newegg with 2.5-3-2-8 timings... and I guess this EB is supposed to make up for the otherwise BAD timings. OK... $330 for PC3200 ram? I guess they can clock high without a truckload of voltage but the lower model numbers... I just dont know who would pay >$300 for ram that is specc'd for DDR400. Cost-prohibitive if you ask me.... Sorry there is just a lot of EB pimping going on. Nice product but the dumb price.
This car performs like a porsche and costs just as much! Um... woot! nah... 3500EB and 3700EB would be promising but I tremble in fear at the price. Im not going to sell my car to get them. 3500EB should be like ~$300-320. Sure hope it's the vendors doing the gouging on super new product. At least BH5 is guaranteed 2-2-2 and is rare. A lot of you guys are running 2.5-2-2 but OCZ is not comfortable speccing that either. We've seen hardware perform way above spec but this is already priced that way! When do you see that. KHX3000 doesnt cost as much as Black level II because they promise nothing! I want more for my $330 than a guarantee I can run 2.5-3-2-8 and it will run like ram with good timings @ DDR 400. Maybe its the egg and not OCZ I dunno.
Anyone considering this ram should definitely hold off until more results are in. For $330 I need specs not holding on to hope. Time to start agressively moving all these to the ram section though just like all the BH5 threads if you ask me. Not to be a jerk guys but I would feel kind of farked over if a bunch of OCZ employees littered good results about and I pay an arm and a leg and get 215 fsb 2.5-3-2-8. Again no gaurantees, but it sure looks like I paid for one.

The 240 x 10 on the NF7?
Well it was but i felt 242 x 10 was better than 240 x 10 :D

You know this is my BH5 right? i know my post was vague but i was simply showing that 2.5-2-2-11 @240 is not that far of the same with cas2 :toast:
texuspete2k2, memory prices have gone up accross the board, it aint just this stuff :(
Just a little fired up because of the pimping. If the answer is its a specialty product that we dont expect to sell alot of.... that's the answer. I'm hoping its first release gouging by vendors.
Oops, my bad. I really should learn to read better lol. Thanks for the comparison anyway.Quote:

I do however agree with most of your post, if indeed that is not inline with similar spec'd ram it is very over priced.Quote:

I can get 1GB of mushkin special BH6 guaranteed to to 2-2-2-6 @400 for $ 357.30 using the %10 Off DDR Coupon shipped to the UK and $ 330.30 to US.
Think OCZ, think :stick:
Cactus Jack, i edited that bit in, it was my bad. My post was very very vague mate.
texuspete2k2,
You may say I'm biasesd (LOL, and you did), but those are god honest benchmarks. I had the RAM 3200 EB to 255fsb on the DFI NFII B at the same timings, but I had to run 3.2v to do it. I did not want to get to Xtreme (ha) with my posts. I think the prices are pretty good. RAM prices in general have shot way up in the last 6 weeks or so.
Just a odd note
I saw your SPD product name and was wondering
I wonder if the people over at enhanced know that the plural of memory , is memory
not memories
Guys
I agree with you on the pricing , and once the ddr market ( which has been crazy ) stabilizes and everyone starts listing Eb it will get much much lower . Just like any other brand new product
yo another BIOS was released today for the EK89MAX v1.7 is the bios lol another bios release within a day odd...
anyhow...was wondering if u have tried it yet on ur AK89
either of them...
It really should be cheaper than BH-5 you know, at least until BH-5 is impossible or even hard to get. I know you probarly can't affect the price and don't want the price to be this high, just hope it dives. Things are looking grim rhough, seeing to the overall shortage on quality ram all over the world.
Even if it came out rough I'm getting my answers. That hopefully prices will come down. Id consider 3500EB at a good price. Really didnt see the market for stuff that acts like low latency at DDR400 though. I understand you guys are enthusiastic about the new product, but sometimes it is easy to forget that alot of the threads are started by OCZ employees. Maybe they dont have a nicer sample than one would get at retail but surely it can be understood that XS readers should take note who is posting most of it. I dont think it is biased to consider the source. I would think that if you guys had an earlier sample not much binning might have gone on yet... who knows. I have taken a chance on low rated stuff that I might waste my money on. I have spent a lot for more specced performance. Never mixed the both.
If the 3200 sticks got a 10% OC hard to say the user didnt get bent over paying $330. Just trying to figure out its spot in the marketplace.. where OCZ would like to see it. Just so you guys know Im not a hater, OCZ 3700 Gold rev2 might have to get the nod over the 3200EB at these prices. Those Gold sticks look good on paper without fancy tech and wording. At least respectable performance and OC headroom without any finger crossing. Inevitably some poor chips will end up in the PC3200 line leveraged by the EB name. Unless I'm missing something this stuff is mostly good for is the final mixing of nice fsb's, decent timings, and even a litle trick or two to make the decent timings better.
Ok, so now Im going on and on. Maybe a target point from OCZ view would help me... like we expect 3200EB to cost close to the price of 3500EL as an alternative option or something like that. I know companies consider there line when making new products.
I am now an OCZ junkie and even applied for dist rights in South Africa. I`ve seen this stuff out perform just about any mem out there and the staff are great  Well done OCZ!
