Cowpuppy,

Man its been 4 days and you haven't giving much information on these chips.
#1 is the chip fully unlocked ?
#2 do you have to change the multipler every time you boot up ?
#3 how did you go about the promme mod to get it to fit on the chip ?
:stick:
Multipliers 4-11 are unlocked only FX's are totaly unlocked
Multiplier starts at 4x200=800mhz upon boot once changed to 11x it's fine untill a power down .5 multi"s are also avialible.
I didn't write down the stepping
I had to cut the legs almost off on the brkt that mounts to the board chips and had to be clearanced by filing the mount and I removed the sloop in the the metal evap head attach brkt with small pieces of zip tie drawing it closer to the cpu
What ever kind of cooling you plan on using you will have to mod the mount so the sink will sit lower to make contact with the cpu die.
thanks for the info.
Hopefully a newer bios will fix the problem with having to change the multipler every boot up.
LOL.... after talking with Cowpuppy and the miserable experiences I have had with the 3400's, I had to grab one of these. It will be here on monday.
So I just need to cut the legs off the top bracket and make room for the cpu v reg chip? This should provide sufficient contact on core? If you could, could ya PM me your phone number cowpuppy whenever you read this? When we spoke, I forgot to get it from you.

Well I didn't quit cut them off I left a little maybe a 1/8" and most of the filing was over by the one volt mod those two chips need clearancing
why cant these damm mb makers (an50r) come out with a new bios that gives us our multi's in the bios? i mean who cares if all we can do is go down from the defualt multi atleast we wouldnt have to raise the damm multi using clock gen with these molbiles.... oh well i gues it could be alot worse.Quote:

peace perc,
Just wondered whether you got a 'CG' stepping, as thats what Newegg are advertising, although the illustration is a 'CO'.Quote:

The code should have ended with AR not AP.
I thought you could fix the multiplier problem by disabling the AMD cool and quiet feature? This will stop the board from ever using the 800Mhz speed.
Also, and i'm sure yo know this, but what the heck... with ClockGen you could set up a simple script that runs on boot up to auto set the multi to whatever you want. I do it all the time as I keep all the scripts and routines for o/cs on a server, so i don't have to keep backin em up.
I run a Shuttle AN50R w/the 025 BIOS and unless I'm
blind there is no Cool N Quiet option.
The CPU multi options in BIOS are found in Voltage
and Frequency Control.
The multi options are 4X thru 10X and AUTO. AUTO
selection will give you boot multi of 11X with a 3400+
chip. (or 10X with a 3200+/3000+)
I'm running a lowly 3000+ chip.
I leave mine set at AUTO and then go over and set the
FSB for the memory FSB at 230.
It boots up at 2300Mhz every trip. :)
Pops.
pops i dont have any multi adjustments in my bios anywhere? im running the an50s00y bios since for some reason my mb wont run the new an50s025 bios??
this auto script for clock gen? can you show me how to make one? i seen in the help section of clock gen that its possible just couldnt figure out how to make the damm thing?
thx perc,
Yo....
Scroll down toward he bottom of this link
and see if it doesn't help out as far as
booting up with a Clock/Gen setting/desktop
shortcut.
http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php
I was under the impression that you couldn't change the mults. via software if the bios does not support C 'n' Q. It doesn't necessarily have to show as a enable/disable option in bios, but must have the support for Cool & Quite for mult. adjustment w/ ClockGen, etc.
k|ngp|n: and anyone else going to try this combo you will need the 10/30 bios to run the mobiles. sN1b3r over at Extreme Overclocking had to flash backwords to get his mobile to run in his shuttle.
Just flash to bios date 10/30/2003 and multi's can be adjusted trough ClockGen and will stay after a reboot, only FSB will be back to 200 after a reboot.
I am not even sure what bios I am using :), but I think this chip is good. So far, I am 3d stable at 2.81ghz/1.8v. I may be able to get to 2.84ghz still at this voltage, but I cant run tests in a row without breaks in between. The best I could manage with any of the 3400+'s that I tested before was 2.83ghz 3d stable on 1.94-1.95v. This was taking breaks in between tests too so...
The 3400+ DTR I got was a CO stepping and the numbers went something like this.....though I cant remember exactly- caaoc 0357 vpmw . LOL just like cowpuppy, I didnt write stepping numbers down.
It was very easy to mod the top prommy bracket for a perfect fit and upon first boot, I notice my temps were way lower in bios than I have seen with the other chips. Probably due to the IHS removed.
I'm going to max it out today or tommorrow in super pi and 3dmark. I'll post some screen shots with actual stepping info. I would be very happy with 2.9* ghz
Great oc k|ngp|n! Congrats on a nice chip.
What kind of prommy are you running on?
k|ngp|n wuz up man. sounds like you got agood one. I just got back from picking up my mach1 from fedex in sterling hgts. still havn't even turned it on yet. I think sat sounds like a good day to make some runs at the front page.
Stay tuned.
Bad news just pluged it in and gas leaked out looks like I'm going to have to send it back to chilly1
damn, that's a shame. What was it r404a or r507'd mach1?
507 baker gpu block modded Mach1. this sux'x. Well I'm benchin this weekend any ways. see what this dtr can do
any reason in particular why you had that done to a mach1 rather than your mkII? Was that chilly1's and you bought it from him or did he mod it for you? Am I allowed to ask what he charged in this section, or do i need to send a pm?
Thought I would post anouther screenie. This is still with 1.73 vcore and mem at 3.32
damn, I want one :toast:

Well I picked up the Mach1 from mdzcpa for a good price with the intentions of having it modded by chilly1. This mach1 was major slaughters befor mdzcpa had it for a few weeks.
Just pm chilly1 on prices, he's resonable and is taking care of the claim on the damage.
