well one thing is for sure guys!!!! IF the 2600 is 2.13 gigs? then the 2500 is not 1.86 gigs that just make NO sense!!! i wish someone would clear this up once and for all cause now im all confused!!

The 72W 2600+ DTR (desktop replacement) mobile chip is 2.13GHz stock on 1.65v. The 47W 2600+ (what I have and what newegg sells) is 2.00GHz stock on 1.45v.

well i gues that sums that up! just didnt think there was that much of a differance in the two chips? so at 2.16gigs my 2600 barton is only ocing 540mhz at 2700mhz? doesnt seem like much does it? my desktop 2500 barton at 1800 mhz will oc to 2600mhz thats an 800mhz oc on that bad boy!! oh well thx for clearing that up cause i was woundering just what the hell speed my 2600 was running at stock?

Actually, since stock is 2000MHz, and it did 2700MHz, thats a 700MHz OC...
The reason I'm confused about it is that the standard desktop Barton rated at 2600+ is running at 1.9Ghz (166*11.5). If the mobile 2600+ (133*15) is running at 2Ghz that means that the 33Mhz loss in FSB is countered by a whopping 100Mhz gain in clockspeed to achieve the same PR.
On the other hand, the standard desktop Barton rated at 2500+ is running at 1.83Ghz (166*11). If the mobile 2500+ is running at 1.86Ghz (133*14), then only 33Mhz clockspeed is given to the mobile to counteract the same 33Mhz FSB loss to achieve the same PR.
This PR system seems really fishy :)
Maybe that's why the mobile 2600+ seems so damn good for OC compared to the 2400/2500? It has a full 100Mhz more stock clockspeed than its standard desktop counterpart - a much bigger difference than any of the other mobiles.

But yea, your probably right. Thats why the 2600+ OC's a little better than the 2500+'s and 2400+'s and it's probably going to be the same whenever the mobile 2800+ hits newegg, with the 2800+ OCing better than the 2600+. Higher rated CPU's (xx00+) are usually the best of the best. Because that means they passed AMD's validation to run at those higher stock speeds at the same voltage of lower rated chips.

Oh and even though it's official stock speed may be 2.00ghz with 1.45v, my chip had no trouble running 2.20ghz (3200+) at the same voltage, prime stable. I have a screenie if anyone wants to see. :toast:
yup i believe you mine does 2200@1.45v as well(i dont have a screenie didnt keep the system up long enough). i thought this was exellent but now i find out that the chip is defualt at 2gigs and for some reason it doesnt seem so exellent anymore... dont get me wrong ofcourse these chips are killer ocers without a doubt. i cant wait to see how the 2800's and 3000's molblies oc? i bet 3gigs will be a common occurance!

GJ, 2.75GHz. I never tried anything higher than 2.7 on 1.85, I just assumed it wouldnt be prime stable without moving to 1.9 at least. Ill have to try it...(12.5x220)

Yea, thats what I've been sayin, the DFI boards don't seem to have a problem with the mobiles and high FSB's. I wonder why the NF7's do. :confused:
