Hm that is right...but I thought somewhere he mentioned ES......maybe I was wrong and thinking about a different one.
He has a lot of CPU's!

That 2.4a is a 533fsb chip, Kinda confusing with the "a" on the end since that means 100fsb or it did.
But it's 133X18 multi is 2.4ghz. Look at the box, and neweggs description.
so who is the guinea pig, to test it.
has any of you bought one and tested it? what are the results? i dont get it, why does intel sell their cpus so cheap when they obviously can clock them to 3.6ghz easily? and disable HT? weird... :stick:
Maybe its like that Oreo commercial where the hit the wrong button and the oreos are inside out! Intel hit the wrong button and they accidently made 2.4A prescotts instead of 2.4a northies!
Tedinde said he ordered one.
I wonder if it's possible to enable HT.
that would be cool. Some morons over at ocforums keep crying about ht, and they seem to know this proc sucks...it is just a matter of time before i stop posting there.
nice really nice !!

man I really really want one of these, but will it work with my V1.0 IS7? I saw on abits site it said V1.2 and up will work and I really dont wont to get one until I know it works with version 1.0000000!!!
nice, what cooling is that? :slobber:Quote:

It says Ln2...if only it was air!:toast:
Tedinde, did you get your 2.4a prescott in yet?
If he ordered from newegg last week, he should have it VERY soon. Cant wait to see what he gets!Quote:

I think maybe D0's are out? I looked at newegg and for the 2.8E OEM a guy rated it and said I got a D0. Runs alot cooler 4.1ghz on air? I'm not sure I can beleive this though. what you guys think?
I would love to take one for a spin. 18x multiplier with DDR433 BH5 = 3.9 Ghz @ 217 FSB memory 1:1 2-2-2-6 ... or what ? Sounds interesting to me :-)
Buy one and test it out for us :toast: heheQuote:

No ones going to try it?
I looked up the spec list on intel, they are currently not shipping D0 prescotts, the 2.4A with spec number SL7E8 is a C0 stepping just like the rest of the prescotts. Here's a link to the SL7E8 page. Here's a link to all 90nm (prescott) specs, notice they are all stepping C0.
Those superpi 8M results are very good (faster than P4EE) but the clockspeeds are very poor for ln2 cooled Prescott. The good old 2.4B (533FSB) NW CPUs did over 4.4G ln2 cooled..
Yeh even overclocked to 3.6 Ghz = 200 FSB = not good for 3DMark. 2.4 Northwood @ 3.6 Ghz = 300 FSb = very nice for 3DMark :-)
that's not a 2.4B but a 2.4AQuote:

CPU:2.4A ES
I got red X
edit: nvm it kinda works it just loads only half of it hehe. What cooling is that?
Hmmm.. this chip looks perfect for my situation, do you think this chip would work in my abit it7 ??
