yeah unoid's site is a good resource, sadly in my case, my board wasn't the same layout as any of the boards he's got listed :(
But, we've managed to work out the mods and it seems like I've got a gem here :D

Just did the vddq mod. This gave me artifact free 730MHz and a few more MHz on the RAM. :banana:
My problem with artifact at high voltages are also gone after the mod.
Now lets do some benching :cool:
btw. Someone should tell uniod about this

I got 750Mhz with just the vGPU mod @ 1.55v, never tried for anything higher than that, but I was artefact free, just the odd tear from the mem being on the edge. :)
I'll have a look into vDDQ and vMEM though I think :D
No point having a half modded card when there is probably going to be more in this card still :D

The large chip in the middle is VDDq, as when I measured the voltage on surrouding caps I got a lower voltage there as opposed to the controller at the far end of the card. Pin 5 and 7 are the pins.
The mod for the VDDR chip at the other end of the board from the GPU voltage is the same - pins 3 and 6.

I ran 3DMark03 at 725/365 without the fan blowing, seems to be close to it's max. 732 hard locked and 730 was pretty colours :D
best I managed was 5089 on my 24/7 OS, no services disabled, nothing done to the OS at all :)
When I get my tweaked and de-cluttered DX9 install done I'll give it another whirl :)
I guess the card is getting a bit hot for it to artefact the way it was.

The point to measure the vddq should be the one where you measured 1.38V.
If I go above 1.5V there I get artifacts again and gain no more OC but I ask myself what bigzs wondercard will be able to do.
You should do a 3dmark03 bench. Iam shure you'll place first there. While higher frequencies only give sligtly better scores in 2001 the 03 scales quite good. Im 3rd there with 2270MHz CPU only...
the VDDQ mod is done, but I'm getting problems with Nature... vDDQ is set to 1.45v and vGPU is set to 1.55v... 751/373 will run about 15 seconds of nature and then the screen will have stripey effects (Like an RGB breakdown), and the computer crashes.
slight improvement on my previous attempt... 752/374 vDDQ = 1.44v vGPU = 1.55v

My current clocks are 775/780 but I gotta give the GPU almost 1.7V. Hope this wont kill my card but it remains quite cool so i think this isnt to bad for it.
Im close to 17500 with those clock rates. Cant wait to get my RAM :banana:

vGPU has been up to 1.62v but I saw no improvement there around 775 is the limit for the card due to getting limited by vDDQ which I can't seem to get stable thru Nature above 1.44v. 1.59v/1.44v is fine for my needs though, I've not seen much improvement in score above 762 core in all honesty due to CPU bottle necks
Can someone post (with pics preferably) where the vddq and vgpu mods are? And what resistance values you're using?
I've done the vmem mod, and I did the vgpu mod that was on Unoids' site, but from what I'm reading, there's yet another mod that might get me some more mhz out of my card.
so far I've used 1 pot and 1 resistor for the two mods I have. used the pot on the vmem, and the resistor on the vgpu.
I'll post pics of my card in a little while to point out where I've moded.
right now I'm sitting at 630/745...and I'd LOVE to be at 700/745 at least.

I am nearly there with the "tin foil" heatsink I have at the moment - 590MHz 3dmark stable/no artifacts. I got a really crummy score of 4200 though, but that was before I reinstalled WinXP. Haven't benched with the new install yet ;)
Just a note about VDDQ: I measured it on my card and got about 2.8V, which was close to VDDR but less than - :confused:
Anyway, be careful when modding VDDQ. You may fry the GPU by doing this mod as the voltage controls the input/output buffers of the RAM, and consequently affects the signal voltages.
where did you measure VDDQ from L33T M33P?
I'm measuring from where it reads "1.38v" in this diagram and I was getting an increase on that cap, so I just assumed that was the place where I was supposed to be measuring from. I didn't measure from the one which reads "2.75v" as I noticed an increase from the first place I measured :)
I'm not gonna have the card running again until vMEM is done, so I'll have to wait until then to find out if I got an increase on the 2.75v value.
ok, so here's my card. Sapphire 9600xt. I've already done the VGPU and VMEM mods. I'd like to do the Vddq mod also. However, I'm not exactly sure what chip it is. So, I've taken a decent picture of the card, edited to show the spots I've got mods and the mod for vddq I have in question.
can someone tell me if that is in fact the right spot for Vddq, and if it uses the same pins as the vgpu mod? I would also need the location to read the vddq value.
So far, I can get 630/745 stable from my card @ 1.42v gpu and 2.95v ddr. If I up the vgpu to 1.45v-1.5v I can hit 650-660. However, since I still have stock cooling I'm holding off on that.

Vgpu and Vddq use the same chip, the vmod is equal for both. you should start with 10k ohms and go lower in little steps. The Vddq is a bit more dangerous than the other mods so you should be more carefull.
