I think DFI isn't worth the efforts. It's possible but might require too much BIOS modding. Their Award BIOS doesn't like unsupported CPUs.
Keny,
Where does POST stop?Quote:
how to get a prescott to run on a tpower i45
Finally got time to mess with this and the post goes nowhere, it stays on FF and doesn't move through the codes at all
Celeron D can post on DFI LP UT ICFX3200-T2R, but failed to OC FSB 800. With FSB mod, get no problem.
Mod way: FSB 800 mod
Mobo: DFI LP UT ICFX3200-T2R
Cooling: air
Ambient temp: 21C

Is the VID mod on prescott the same as the VID mod on the celeron D, like below?

A easy way is to post on a Gigabyte P965 or P35 mobo, you can see VID in Vcore setting page. Or you have to measure voltage of 8 pins below after post on I45 (edited from ceemic's photo):

I can run the Prescott on a old 775 board and get the vcore from CPUz if that's any easier, or does it need to be measured from them pins, I presume I just measure each pin to GND
Edit: I don't have a P35
Love this thread to bits!

Ok measured them out and the results are below, thanks for the help on this BTW.

On the old board (some generic msi thing) this pentium 4 540 and the stock vcore is 1.22, it goes up to 1.3* under load, damn p.o.s board fluctuates all over constantly but it settles @ 1.22 on idle
Just to confirm, as per the pin# in the diagram i'm getting 11001110 on the i45

Do you think the same vid mod that you done on the cele will work on this p4?
Worked perfect:clap:

I would thank, but i dont know how to do it on this forum :/
CPU: Celeron D 347 (batch 3709A270, FSB 800 mod)
Mobo: DFI LP UT ICFX3200-T2R (Vcore mod)
Cooling: LN2
Valid Vcore: 2.00V
Why did I do FSB mod? Because CPU failed to get 800 FSB on air without mod.
Why did I do mobo Vcore mod? Because Vcore 1.90V limit (including Vdroop) without mod.

Nice results there.
Is there a mod to get the CPU multiplier unlocked as I have got no adjustments at all on my CPU ratio after doing the vid pin mod on the p4 540, it overclocks ok but its limiting as the CPU ratio can't be lowered once the clock reaches a too high speed for the ram devider to cope with
As you can see its greyed out with some sort of error message

Ok thanks, no biggie, its just nice to be able to adjust it for spi runs etc, where ram efficiency is key. Glad I don't need a different board to run these old cpu's as I only have this one 775 board that's any good at overclocking.
