i got a Thermalright SP-97, so hopefully you're using maybe a stock cooler :p:
Good luck Saaya, I hope th best for you. It feels good to reach high speeds:-) I put the case in the window (15c at night) XP booted at 2.8ghz @ 2.3v!!! but when I run SiSandra it kicks out of the program. 2.9ghz post but goes black screen at Win. Splash. I want a Prommie so bad!!!
Don't feel too bad saaya, my chip is a TbredB 1700+ that can only do 2GHz with watercooling! The watercooling is a pretty good setup too.
Teh mobiles are the last of the unlocked bartons. No need to unlock (so far!).
Mine does 2.5 @ 1.9v, haven't the cooling to run it higher, not for long anyway! Good luck saaya, if you don't get the hook-up from anyone else, PM me...
Good luck On it then Saaya. if you were closer, Id send you the next one i got that did the 2.5ghz.Quote:

I'll just test them anyway before using them in customers rigs, And i never max them out anyway.
i feel teh same... my poor 1700 DLT wont boot at over 1.8vcore, and i get 2480 stable... wtf it that!!!:mad:Quote:

now my 2400 does 2.4gig @ 1.8v, havnt had the occasion to test higher, but i did a run on my 8rda+ @ 2.2vcore, reboot at 2586mhz... no fun. i want a 2700mhz air cpu so bad... *crys*
i think ill order one more and sell teh worse of teh two.. maybe ill get 2 more. we shall see.
IIRC AMDs cpus don't die from high voltages because of the shorter pipeline. Something it has to do with the long p4 pipeline getting real hot in certain spots that is uncoolable no matter what you cool it with.
man i want one of these so bad now!!! my early stepping 2500+ is pissing me off when i see noobs with much higher oc's than me!!
Dont feel bad sayaa I have a worse barton :p
I got the thing in and I'm like "a 9 stepping? DAMNIT!." I asked if I should try it or return it and everyone said try it. threw it in my nf7s (which is now dead and maxed at 215 fsb no matter what) and my water cooling and it needed 2V to run 2.2ghz :| Nothing higher...
And I got my 8rda/1700+ from newegg when it was the hot thing and everyone at the [H] (posted there when I was teh noob :p: ) was hitting 2.5ghz left and right. Mine was a B so I was happy...
Hit 190 fsb locked multi :( I thought it was the mobo so I got an NF7-S when everyone was getting amazing results with them. After finding out that it was the 1700 and not the mobo and that 4 other chips wouldent go over 215 fsb/2.3ghz even with a chilled NB and CPU at 2.1V and 1.7VDD I contemplated why I even still tried to OC :(
I have high hopes for my infinity though :D If my 1800 does good I'm ordering up a 2400 mobile :slobber:
EDIT:
yea rabbit... I post at the board I used to post at when I first started mainly to help the noobs and it hurts when I see random people hitting 2.5ghz on AIR when I went through 2 boards and 5 chips AND water cooling than a chiller and I STILL cant get 2.5...
I bet my 8rda was a like a mericle board but I never used it :(
Yea I feel for u Saaya and Afireinside....my chips blow too...
I ordered a week 30 AQXEA, but with my luck it was an XPMW... Dosen't even do 2.4GHz with 2.0v stable in CS! After about an hour it crashes... so im stuck at 2.35GHz... with 1.95v
Take my word for it when I say this saaya, I'm a knucklehead and I got 2500mhz out of this chip, you should have no problem.
Raybo
heh, thx guys :D :toast:
im glad stang_man was nice enough to order one for me at the same night i heard newegg still has unlocked 2400+ bartons, afaik they were sold out only 24hours later! :D
thx for your good wishes :buddies:
i think it also has to do with strained silicon and a the magic "sauce" :D intel uses strained silicon, they use a thin layer of si-ger to stretch the silicium atoms. by doing so they reduce the resistance of the electronflow between those si atoms, BUT since the atoms are strained, the powers that keep the atoms in place are now smaller as there is a larger distance between the atoms now. this makes electromigration a lot more likely to happen. thats why the traces can dissolve easier if the electromigration (voltage x heat) factor is too high. and the magic "sauce" is a substance wich produces a insulating layer between the traces on every layer to prevent electromigration but most of all emi inside the core between the traces. it also has to do a lot with design though, this is probably the biggest factor wich makes amd cpus that electromigration resistanct.Quote:

The image that you attached explained it all to me saaya

hm?
Do you guys think I should pick one of these up for an 8rda3+(got brand new for $5) with an ax7+delta?
I have been 1 for 1 with amd chips lately. My 1700 dlt3c that i got this summer in my nf7-s rev2 does 230*11.5 @1.65v 44c load and I am trying to get a nice chip to pair up with this 8rda3+. I think it would be a nice b-day(mar. 6) gift for my little sister (whole comp, not just the proc/mobo...she wouldn't know what they were ;))
I was hoping to snag a good used barton or 1700 off the forums for about $50, but these things seem pretty consistent, so I think I might pick one up. I would like to hit somewhere above 2.4 ghz, and these seem to do that pretty easily.
also, is that a 2400 mobile, or thorton? I checked the prices at newegg, and the mobile is like $120 and the thorton is $73. I never heard of the thorton, when did those come out?
edit->retail is $121, and oem is $79, so that answers that. But what is that thorton? Lastly, would you guys suggest the 2400 or the 2500?
It was a joke saaya.
Raybo
MP == 121 bucks. that is not a mobile cpu. It is made for the MultiCPU system.
the mobile 2400 is $79. i would get the 2400 personally, its got 1.93gig @ 1.45vcore. as opposed to 1.83gig at 1.45vcore on the 2500+.
there are diferent chips. 2400+ tbred/thorton and 2400+ barton
the 2400+ bartons are sold out already. the 2400+ tbreds are still nice chips but i dont think its worth to get one if your current cpu runs 2.5ghz already. if its a thorton you can probably unlock the extra cache wich would would turn it into a mobile 2500+, but again, if your at 2.5ghz already its not worth it if you ask me.
i know, but what do you mean?Quote:

do you mean i explained it too complicated and you dont get it?
@Saaya
you can get Mobile Bartons at http://shop.cssc.de ... but it's 125€ for a Mobile 2500+!!!
Now do I buy some Watercooling to push my DLT3C up to 2,4-2,5GHz or do I buy one of those CPUs and keep on using air
Both buy watercooling and a new mobile cpu if you can afford it :D
The mobiles should really rock:banana: with low voltage.
alright i AM cursed. i build a cage over my heatsink and now have the combined power of a high speed 80mm and a 60mm delta on it. with this high cfm i get 38°C idle temps even with 2.2v vcore. and my load temps are around 50°C wich is still ok...
BUT even with this high vcore and good aircooling i cant get any of my 3 cpu to work at 2.5ghz! they all max out at 2450mhz!!! i can run prime forever at 2.45ghz but i get an error at 2.5ghz right away.
athlonxp 1700+ duron 1800 barton 2500+ ... i really need this mobile 2400+!
Hmm... nice cpu to pick up for a backup system (LAN or server or whatever) :D
Gotta check out where I can obtain one :)
