SL7CH MO stepping is P4 3.40 EE 2mb cache
SL793 D1 stepping, P4 3.40 512kb
SL7B9C0 stepping, P4E 3.40 1mb L2
The Prescott is using C0 stepping.
didnt fugger or tedinde have a c1 stepping.
Those 3.4GHz NW:s seem to be nicer than I thought. 4017MHz stable with air isnt too bad:

Well I've ordered one, expecting it Monday/Tuesday :D
when I've burnt it in and the AS3 has settled, I'll see how far I can take it on air with a Zalman flower. I'll be happy with 3.8 (224fsb), if I can run my ram at 1:1 2,2,2,5 :)

The 3.4 NW seems to be a good chip. Got mine on Wednesday, let it burn 48 hours straight 235@1.6v on air.
Behaves almost exactly as my 3.2 does in terms of voltage needed for a particular FSB.

AI7 sp-94 92 tornado outside of case, temps read 33 load 25 idle ambient of 18. The ai7 reads temps weird.
Yeah that's 4.0 on air. I would have pushed it further on air to see where it would go but, that's what the mach2 is for. :banana:

This review was rigged and the p4 still lost in the majority of benches. Look at those pathetic timings! They also compared the poor Opteron against 3ghz P4s! What's funnier is the Opteron still kicked some P4 ass!
If you're going to show a review off at least show one that isn't rigged.
Eh, they used the exact same loose timings when testing the P4s:

I don't really care about "brand loyalty" as I'm not a fanboy, I'd just like to see as many comparisons/reviews as possible. I just bought a 3.4NW because I have a P4C800-E Dlx and some good RAM that should compliment it nicely.
My next rig will most probably be AMD 64bit, it all depends what CPUs are available when I'm choosing a PCI-E mobo.
I read that the latest Maximum PC magazine has tested Athlon64 vs P4 3.4, prescott, and EE. And Intel dominated the benchmarks by winning the majority.

Everyone knows that AMD chips respond more to latency than Intel chips. If they wanted to show a real benchmark they would have used memory that at least did 2-3-2-5 and not 2.5-3-3-5. High latencies and AMD don't get along very well at all.Quote:

I said review site. As in places like THG, Anandtech, and *wrenches* [H]. You know there's bound to be an error somewhere or money under the table. Or even just plain fanboyism.
Not at Anandtech. In no way are they biased towards one or the other at all.
I have seen the Northwoods own the AXP's in their benchmarks and then the A64s own the Northwoods which is accurate. They do produce fair results.
Anandtech are pretty much the only place other than XS I trust regarding reviews.
