Nvidia says that pc gaming will be stronger than consoles in 2014 so as to comfort and blind the investors from seeing they are on a slowly sinking ship. Nvidia is going to have a really hard time the next few years. While this is only rumor but i wouldnt be shocked if it were true all of the next gen gaming consoles will have an amd gpu in them. the new wii has an amd gpu, microsoft after having difficulties with nvidia in the first xbox and using the amd gpu in the current one will most likely use an amd gpu in the next. The only real unknown is the playstation.
now with amd and intel integrating gpus into their processors the low-middle end gpu market will pretty much be eliminated for most purposes over the next few years. most people dont need a high end gpu except for us gamers, video editors, etc. When it comes to pc games how many games today really push gpu's? very few. Nvidia's mobile processor sector doesnt really seem to be taking off. i can think of very few cellphones or tablets with nvidia processors in them. I predict nvidia will do fine for a while selling their gpus to construct supercomputers, video editing/animation farms, etc. unless nvidia can get their mobile processor line off the ground theyre going to be in trouble in a few years, and while the ceo says he would never sell he might have no choice if nvidia is consistently loosing money. my guess is intel would buy them out in a heartbeat for patents alone.
anyways... back more on the topic. while some dont like battlefield 3 i personally do. there is also metro last light to look forward to as well as arma 3. there are a few games that i think will really help the pc shine
