what intel chip even used is $30? cant find an e5200 for that much even now
$30 he could get this chip clocked a smidge bit more extend its life and down the road shove that cooler onto some other chip.

Guys, I haven't gave up. I'm thinking about lapping and have Arctic Silver 5.
use the $30 for the heatsink fan you suggest + save up $30 "MORE" gets a e5400. 30 + 30 = 60

I did not say he could could get a better cpu for $30, read man!
I'm saying dont wast money ($30 what your suggesting) buying another cooler when he can get a faster/cooler/lower power/newer/all around better cpu for $60.
OR he can just live with it! Contrary to what your trying to tell him, his temps are not that bad!!!!
I DID lap my e4300, and i gained nothing! wast of time!!!! but yeah try the as5, a small rice size dot in the middle
all i said was a cooler would help his current one isn't that great and you have decided he needs to spend more money to get a chip that will end up having the same exact problem because the root of the issue is not fixed the cooler is not great doesn't matter what chip he puts under it nothing will fix that
Jees, your the one that suggested him to shell out $$ ( on $30 heatsink) in the first place, i just said if hes got $$ to spend that why not got a little further and get a better CPU. Anyhow this is all pointless becuase his CPU is fine at the temps he has. Also I call total BS on your claim of 4.5ghz with a e4300, no freaking way, not on a 65nm chip unless your doing sub zero cooling.
Ok I see you point. A better heatsink is the solution:up: good luck
I installed a heatsink with a screw and back plate mount. Hooray.
I can't trust the Thermaltake V1, especially when a heatpipe one seems to be doing bad. I actually see better temps with a screw and back plate mounted one from an Acer!
So, the Thermaltake V1 is now in the Acer Aspire.
