this sounds dumb but how do i make a bin. file file out of this??
i just tried the d22 beta and while it works perfectly i do not really see any difference option wise in the bios
everything is just put into different menus
there are no "new" options or anything
i cant even find the new timings
i had tried the d10, but it dosn't give me any speed. Nothing.
I think im gonna flash back to the original.
ic.... thanx for testing it.... the difference of this bios is not in bios menu... its in bios file... u cant see it... u just can feel it:toast:
Hi titac,
thanxs for the great work u are putting in to these bios's it is really appreciated.
:toast:
Just wondering, have you got any ideas into why higher multis wont work with high fsb on the newer bios's. A have a little information for you I hope this may help if you are looking into the 10/10.5/high fsb problem.
Basically its like this with the d10 bios i can run nice fsb but i cannot run with three sticks populating the dimm slots. The mthbrd simply refuses to post at anything over 200mhz, i get no sirens, no beep nothing. With 2 sticks everything is fine, can push a little past 250mhz.
With all the bios's which wont allow me to run 10/10.5/high fsb i can run no problem with 3dimms populated. I can take the brd almost up to 250mhz with 3 sticks of memory.
I believe the l8r bios's were fixed so that all dimms could be populated over 200mhz. Seeing that the instability starts near the frequency the brd is sold to run at they had no choice but to fix this.
I dont know if their is anything of use for you in the stuff i have mentioned but i feel obliged to mention this to you. Unfortunately I have alot of University work to do at the moment and do not have time to test your bios's I will do so after the 14th.
Good Luck with your work and thanxs again
mongoled
i "feel" absolutely nothing! Sorry, i cant gain any speed, nothing.
i benched a the same speeds as with the d16 and the modded d10 gave me absolutely nothing.
Updated the bios's available. Gave people more of an option for those that dont or cant use the d10 bios's. If you guys can, please post a before and after, previous high compaired to beta bios's used.
I would also like to know how to change the .ace an .rar to a .bin file, so I could try the bios.
You need to extract them with winace or winrar.

OK its really cool that someone is finally doing this, but at the same time certain things are just too confusing. I would like to see more accurate descriptions of the changes vs. stock BIOS. I mean sure 'all hidden options enable' sounds exciting and all, and then there are the 'OScar Wu DFI timings etc' but where/what are these options exactly? The different BIOS layout is neat, but that alone isn't enough (IMVHO) to justify a BIOS release with a word 'turbo' in the name.
P.S. What is the difference between the two betas of the 21 turbo?
I dont know that much about them, just that they enabled me to get high fsb. Tictac is the man with the answers.
Shroomalistic
Thanks, have them extracted now to a bin file.
emmm... let me explain it in simple way....
D10 = hav this command in bios ABCD
D11 - D22 = Hav this ABCDEFG
DFI/EPOx = ABCF
Beta 1 use this combination = ABCD(D10)
Beta 2 use this combination = ABCF(DFI/EPOX)
Beta 4 use this combination = ABCD + F + EFG ( D10+ DFI/EPOX + D11-D22 )
is it fast or not still depend how this bios working with ur hard ware
some said it fast some said it sux...
i'm not well known bios modder... i do it for Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0 user
hope dat they get better bios...
hey.... check it out Beta 4 is on server right now:
d10,d14,d14betaq,d16,d17,d18,d19,d20,d21,d22
now this thime i dont unhidden anything n i dont put any turbo or chamge bios layout with ModBin
i just put dat commandline thing... so taste the difference:toast:
n some already taste dat difference... some dont even feel it
here comparison od D10beta1 n D10 Beta4

here more real screen shot
@tictac
Can you explain what exactly you 'unhidden' in any of your releases? Any idea what those ABCD etc letter actually mean/do/change?
emmm... so guys u rainning me with question... i think i'm out off words already... :(Quote:

how do i make this beta bios up?
i compare 3 difference board base on nforce 2 chip
Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0, DFI Infinity n Epox 8RDA+
i found dat they hav 1 file with same code
which is ABC on 2 of this board
D10 hav this code AB
but abit(D11-D22) hav this code ABCD
DFI n Epox hav this ABCF
so i assume the F n D thing is added by the manufacture
n then i manipulate dat last code base on ABC as basic ... i make it with:
ABC+F = beta 2
AB+CD = beta 1 ( only D10 as this bios only hab AB code)
ABC+D+F = beta 4
i found out dat latest bios can work well on AB code as it give different timing than wat we set on bios..
base on report by spaceboyz my beta tester dude
he set 2-2-2-11 at bios n he get 2.5-3-3-8 on windows....(D21beta1)
dat mean the file i'm messing up is file dat controlling dat timing things...
wat this file doing in there???? who knows.... but for sure it control dat timing things
any more question? NO
if u want to use this bios get it, if doubt this bios work ...live it there
i think this is the reason why bios programmer dont hang out on forum... they ran out off words
i just get banned by OCFORUMS.COM... better i hide myself in cave :stick:
The infinty timings are not that strong, according to MrIcee, but we can use these on nf7-s too now?
Thanks!
Once i run a couple of benchies Ill be able to see if there is a difference. so far it got me higher bandwidth and fsb.
Tictac, dont let the questions bring you down. You dont have to answer anything, let the people try it for them selfs. Just keep up the good work man. Loving these bios's thanks to you.
Certainly - Tictac, I've been a low-level developer. It's rough to talk to the peeps when you're deep in code. Let it ride, we 'preciate what's coming out of your fine work :toast:
From my observations, it seems differant boards act differantly to differant Bios's, like some work well with d10 some wont, some with 14, again some not.
Its really hit and miss, just try everything you can and who knows you might get lucky, with the right one for your hardware.
Thanks tictac for your work, stick around your appreciated. :)
TDF.
Tictac sorry if I discouraged you with my questions. Just trying to find out more info thats all. I just remembered the UBER BIOS's for the ASUS A7N8X-DLX, where you had these new settings you could select, (like Vdimm voltage control), but they didn't really DO anything, whereis yours are kinda opposite, some unseen, hidden settings are changed without any new visible menu items. Do you understand why I was asking? Keep up the work, I've been testing your releases for a couple of days actually, I will post the results when I am finished.
how do you force flash the bios? I don't think I've ever needed to do it but when I try to flash one of these bioses it tells me the bios rom is write protected.
tictac:)
Let me first give you an official welcome to the XtremeSystems forums:toast:
It is really great to have you aboard, and your expertise in modding these Abit bios's is a wonderful addition to our site.
Keep up the great work, if there is anything you need feel free to pm myself or any of the staff.
Thank you for choosing the best overclocking/modding site on the net to share your knowledge !
Best Regards,

Now thats what i call a welcome
Ive tried it out, didn't notice a difference but i sure like the new layout. Maybe i need to persevere a bit more but again. Its good to see someone take on a job abit cannot seem to do realiably.
Many thanks :toast:
