ah ok, that's great :D, the BIOS is modded or default?.
I see 1100MHz on core soon, that will be an orgasm D:!

XFX HD6850 without voltage control. The speed of the ram is noteworthy on this card.

CobraXp nice benches.
What voltage are you running on your RAM?
@ ^ = AB version ? mine lock up only 1 GH for GPU
djmattm
I am not sure if other HD6850s will go as fast as the one that I have. I might have just got lucky and picked up a fast one.
With voltage control I think it will go faster.
Gaul I don't know what AB version I have.
The core limit on his card might be higher because of the XFX bios.
Anyway, here is the maxed out core and memory ( cant go over these limits because of the CCC limits ).
This Asus DirectCU 6850 is running nice and cool. Under 65C even at this speed. Rock stable.
Those who are getting low scores in vantage, update to 10.10c hotfix. I found my card was not getting loaded properly. the log showed the GPU load was dropping to 70% for fraction of a second causing stutter i was seeing on the screen.
10.10c hotfix fixed it.
Here is run at 1000/1250.

Just got my 6870 in today. runs rock solid at 1000mhz core clock but how do i increase the limit in afterburner 2.0 to get past 1k core clock?
Hey guys
Here's my results. My card 6870 does 1000mhz without voltage increase :D

Yup, i think he was using 10.10 when he took that screenshot.
Read my post here : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...8&postcount=35
10.10c hotfix fixed that.
It was not related to kombuster only. In some games too the gpu was not getting loaded to 99/100% with 10.10. hotfix seems to have cured it.
Running Cat. 10.10c
Not sure why gpu load wasn't at 100% with the MSI kombuster.
It had some nice benches on 3dMark06 and Vantage.
@ cobraxp = which brand 6870 u have ?
My gigabyte 6870 does 990 core before freezing in kombustor at 100% fan and ~22C ambient benchtop setup.
Using AB 2.1b2 i can easily get higher than 1000 core clock by setting >900, applying and then closing and reopening AB ;)
Tried a Sapphire HD 6850 in my AMD rig for the heck of doing so. My nephew's getting the card when I'm done playing with it. It's doing 945|1150 stock voltage.
One hour of Kombustor.

AvP 1920x default = 47.1FPS
http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/552/avp16850.jpg
I'm testing 990|1150 1.250 mV with Afterburner/Kombustor now.
Hmmm, since 6870 voltage control is not currently available but 6850 is - do you think its possible to flash a 6870 to a 6850?
For anyone who might be interested:
Changing the config file in MSI Afterburner 2.1.0 b2 will allow you to take the CPU and Mem clocks much higher (1265/1495).
It still doesn't give voltage control though...
These changes work on my Sapphire 6870. It didn't really help for me, the best my card can do stable @ stock V's is 950/1150.
Go to the MSI Afterburner folder (should be in C:Users/username).
Open the file "MSIAfterburner.cfg" using notepad.
Edit the following 2 items:
unlockvoltagecontrol = 1
enableunofficialoverclocking = 1
Then use the "save as" option with File Type "All Files" and select Save.
This should let you run higher clocks than what CCC allows.
Hope this helps....... Dave
Thanks for the help dave :D
Found the download for After Burner 2.1.0 B2.zip
Looks like 1k is all i'm getting out of my core clock, Kombustor fails at 1005 lol
is there any benefit from using furmark over kombuster?
