Gigabytes list is far from updated, I just picked a random board that's not on the list but it supports X6 anyway.
I think Gigabyte will do their job, given their recent history of updating BIOS for old AM2 boards from 2006 to make them AM3 compatible.
I don't see why the 790X-UD4P is not supporting it when some of the 785 and even 770 boards are getting bioses for them. I hope they give me F10 bios with 6core support and ACC fix as well.
Just be patient people...the boards that do support will indeed support, it may be just a matter of time for all these boards to have the updates implemented into their BIOS.
It's still very early people. I am sure mobo manufacturer's will include Thuban support on most of the high end boards. Just give them time.
Perhaps you didn't look at the third page of the compatibility list?

I see the board you linked right there. :p:
Biostar TA890GXE supports X6 processors.

MSI 890GXM-G65 supports X6 processors

more or less my main idea was to make sure people knew that their boards would be compatible, and what bios is needed. i would hope any 8xx series boards would be compatible, otherwise the board must have been a complete failure. so its really about older ones, AM2+ or AM3, just as long is the good old faithful ones we have been using for 6 months or even over 2 years.
Looks like ASUS Skipped M3A79-T Deluxe from support list
Even the "old" nforce board like M3N78-VM and M2N68-AM SE2
got BIOS update to support Phenom II x6
(M3N78-VM don't have a "M4N" upgrade as M4N78-VM isn't the same spec as M3N78-VM (lack of feature w/M3N)
I hope they will do their job on this, otherwise i must buy a new board, because my 790xt-ud4p is not there. Although it's strange that low-end boards got the support and the high-end ones still haven't. I'm sure they'll come around..kind of :DQuote:
Gigabytes list is far from updated
i wonder if the cheaper boards have them cause their bios is easy to update, while the nicer ones have too many options that still have to work after the updates. i doubt its as simple as a line of code to say "this cpu is this speed" cause if it was that simple, there would be no excuse and every board probably would be updated
I have an M3A79-T Deluxe and a Giga UD4P, neither of which have official support. I am surprised by that because the M3A is older but one of their highest-end AMD boards even still, and the Giga because it's a somewhat high-end AM3 board.
chill people..... gigabyte will provide six core bios for every amd+ board ! and for every am2 board wich have already am3 support (a lot of them in this present; even if they won`t have am3 logo on them);
the same thing asrock will do (and if they are mad enouch will upgrade bios for nf3 based board with agp :)) )
and the others...... sad but don`t put too much hopes (maybe in am2+ boards; but for am2... no way >> UPGRADE)
At ECS site the support list for AMD 6 core processors. http://www.ecs.com.tw/extra/6core/index.html :)
My A780GM-A ultra support them. :):):)
@Manicdan : please update the 1st post
We've been in contact with ASUS about this, the M3A79-T Deluxe will get support along with many others afaik.
They were focusing on full support for M4A-boards now they are working their way down. M3A78-T will get supported according to my contact (since that's what we asked) so I'd find it very odd if M3A79-T wouldn't :shrug:
Maybe you missed the obvious like i did, there are 5 pages, and your model is in the last!:D
Otherwise you could have tried my tip and go to the CPU support site for that model.;)

Though my GA-MA785GM-US2H does.
I can see it now Mats :up: but at that time it wasn't listed :D
Thanks for the head's up!
M2N68-AM-SE2 works, it's not an unlocker though. Thanks for the links, only board I haven't been able to get it running on is MSi-770 G45, as usual we'll have to rely on beta BIOSes for a while.
This thread needs stickied like.
Both boards will have official BIOS support once the qualification process is completed. I have betas for both that we are testing now.
Just to make one item clear, it is easy throw a tag line in the BIOS and claim support. It is a whole different story to actually qualify the board. The reason some boards might not be "supported" is that they fail the qualification process.
