I'm going dual ddc as soon as I can get a hold of an EK dual ddc top with multi-link option. (in the style of EK... damn sexy)

While i was talking to gabe @ CES, he mentioned something about a PWM DDC.
And the way Gabe told me how its configured it seems REALLY REALLY HOT!

Can someone explain the difference between a normal ddc and a ddc with pwm? It must have something to do with you being able to control the PWM one somehow but a little more detailed explaining would be great:)
first off the connector is a 4 pin and not a 3 pin found on normal DDC's.Quote:

The point in pwm is the pulse the pump, so instead of screaming at 4000rpm's, it would go in a wave from 4000 -> 1400 -> 4000 -> 1400, as the cpu header emits the PWM pulse.
How he had it connected was 2 was a molex, or looked like a molex with standard + - , and the other 2 looked like RPM and PWM headers that went directly to your cpu motherboard fan header.
Thats how you controlled the PWM.
It was really cool, and im sure gabe will talk more about it when he decides to.

I agree that system was dead quiet!
I had a chance to look at it when there wasn't
anyone in the room and you couldn't even tell
it was on!
I've built three Cosmos rigs and this was by far
the quietest computer I have heard.
ddc with pwm... to slow reaction time will probably be an BIG issue... might not be a problem for non-overclockers, but why wc with todays silent and efficient aircoolers if not oc ???

Yep just like my crazy fans. They have built in PWM and 4 wires. It was easy to setup and control. Right now they are running at 2500 rpm in my system instead of 6000 rpm which is great when I slid open the patio door when it's-30 outside and doing some benchies but definitely not on a regular basis. So using this for the DDC is an awesome idea that will help maintain pump power while lowering noise. Smart thinking Gabe! :up:Quote:

That is what I remember from my old rig. Probably is the xspc dual bay res which cant handle the vibration from two 3.2's.
