X4 630 is now at U$99, that's nice, I liked it.
x4 635 is a bit pointless in my opnion, I hope the X4 640 will take its place.
there will be a Phenom II X3 740?
it's all nice, but I want more about thuban :D:D
if x4 630 = $99 what about x4 620??
Anandtech article confirms 2 things, code name Zosma and the LCPM 8 channel support in amd 8xx yaaaa for that.....
The Thuban code names are a bit odd:-
AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 6 ?? ?? 6MB 125W ??
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 6 ?? ?? 6MB 125W/95W ??
AMD Phenom II X6 1035T 6 ?? ?? 6MB 95W ??
AMD Phenom II X4 960T 4 ?? ?? 6MB 95W ??
That guy who showed the 960T gpuz shot maybe true after all, and all i did was think that it was a fake. Dam i need a more open mind... sorry to him
EDIT: Thuban info belongs in a new thread :)
If Phenom II X4 2,6 Ghz can do 65W TDP... where is the Athlon II 2,6/2,8 Ghz on 65W TDP?
You shouldn't even bother to compare these to Intel's offerings. Clarksdale (Core i3 / i5) has integrated graphics and are therefore not ideal for overclocking. Lynnfield is much faster and more expensive as a platform. However, if you have the means to go for the Lynnfield, you should.
The strong suit of the Callisto (P-II X2 550/555 BE) is it's price, the overclocking headroom and the possiblity of unlocking the other 2 cores using ACC. This is not a given, but it's a nice thought that you can have a sub-$100 Quad-Core at 3.2GHz. The P-II X2 555 is a C3 stepping, so overclocking should be better than the previous C2 stepping CPU's.
Here's a review on the Phenom II 555 Black Edition by PCWizKid, in which he shows the differences between stock, unlocked and overclocked.
I'm considering taking the bet, when the HD5830 comes out. ;)
yeah prices at newegg are lower now...
955 @ $159.99
965 @ $179.99
620 @ $95.99
getting ready for 975 soon
if AII 620 / PII 905e are all EOLed, I will be disappointed with AMD's marketing.
