Then I gave them hell about it in the forums and our little friend abit pr banned me.

I have a friend that has been checking the progress on the abit forums for me and he has had damn near every post deleted that mentions anything about abit ignoring the problem. He was cautious not to violate any rules and our little friend abit pr sent him a warning that he needed to read the rules or would be banned. LOL
Childish abit childish!

It is obvious to me that abit wants to play games with their customers and hide the truth while trying to sweep this one under the rug.
They must be thinking...the longer they put it off and hide the problem they can come out with a new more expensive board and people will forget about it and pay another 250+ bucks for a new version that will probably have more problems.
I think I have reached the end of my abit punishment.
First I buy the BH7 that was touted as the best overclocking motherboard ever and it was supposed to support the at the time new 800fsb P4's...NOT
I buy the IC7-G.....we all know the touting that this one got...maximum undervolter.
I buy the IC7-MAX3..... again bent over by abit and another 200+ bucks down the drain. I rma it and get a used motherboard back with someones lunch all over it and I warn others about their rma's and gripe about it on their forums, so they ban me.

Yup this is a top notch company. LOL

The only problem i ever had from an abit mobo was one i got from Axiom tech. Was a KR7a and it was rusted. Caps had dings on em and rust was everywhere. Dunno if Axiom did it or Abit. But i was offered a replacement from Axiom. That mobo actually killed my 2000xp cpu in less than 4 hours. Finally found a loose cpu Vcore cap. Soldered it back together and decided to keep the mobo. It ended up being a great mobo. I've returned a couple mobos to Abit and and had no problems there except maybe it took too long. I don't know of any other mobo manufacturer with better return policies. I think they try harder than anyone else to take care of costumers. Just remember Abit USA doesn't make the mobos. They don't actually have that much pull. Abit Tawain is where all complaints should go. I'll keep buying ABit so long as i can mod em. All theese mobos have to be modded to include the Asus mobo.

BMG yes i remeber your 1st post of VDD and VTT mod. I too saw the Jap VDD/VTT mod before the IC7 was released in the USA. I never did like the way they did it. So i had to update the mods. I always like improving a mod or doing it completely different. A lot of people have contributed to the vdd and vtt mods and we should all get some credit for it or at least a free mobo. :D

WATCH OUT FOR AXIONTECH!!! Your experience confirms my suspicions about them. I ordered what was supposed to be a brand new dual Socket370 Iwill board. The board had screw marks on the mounting pads, plus a layer of dust on the top of the box. Axiontech insisted it was a new board. They gave me a hard time about RMAing it, then charged me a 20% restocking fee. On a $187 purchase I was out $67, since they told me I was responsible for shipping both ways.

I had to resort to my credit card company and I finally had to threaten to get Iwill involved is all of this (are they shipping refurbished boards as new?). The bank got all my money back.

Their customer support guys are good people, but not the owner. I avoid them now.

I'm just gonna have to agree with you there. They told me it was brand new as well. It was a refurb or return or whatever. But I've actually bought some other things from them like vid carda and cpus. All were excellent O/Cers. So no complaints there. I was hoping it was maybe a mistake. Sounds like maybe it wasn't. Hell i've seen modded ABit mobos sold locally here. They were modded to lower cpu V core. WTF that made no sense at all. Noticed the crooked resistor piggybacked from one resistor to a ground point. Removed that POS resistor and Vcore tracked normally. I went to the local store and accused them of modding the Abit mobos. They denied it of course. I don't shop there anymore btw. I don't mind modding my own stuff. But modding something for me to keep me from O/Cing really pisses me off. So F that local company. Hm i guess that makes 2 wierd ABit stories ;)
