Why is there a second setup above the NV one with an old Audigy 2 soundcard in it?
Today's onboard sound is better, hmm I might be paranoid but maybe they're using that soundcard to block the view of an 5870.
Which could have been used to run the benchmark?

I still use Sound blaster 24bit and hell its a sound blaster, older techies have heard more about sound blaster series than Audigy/XFi :) But it does not mean that i love my xfi any less....

I really doubt they're trying to pull one over. They've got little reason to. We know they've got silicon, and it surely can run 3D at SOME speed. No FPS counter makes sense.
Also, an argument isn't ad hominem if the person doesn't try and use the attack as proof of a point. You can make fun of someone all you want to in a valid argument.
I too think this is just another part of the faking business of Nvidia. As you can also see on the picture is the amount of cables comming from the top setup going to the bottom and supposingly to the monitor.

I'm not going to speculate on the whether its the real deal or not but at this point one should expect they would have some form of working silicon.
As for the other systems in the picture, this is probably a lab with multiple systems probably using kvm switches. Personally I would expect no less than to see all kinds of different hardware running at the same location that components engineered & validated would be operating.
I would imagine they debug & validate the hardware with various different hardware components to make sure there are not issues under a multitude of hardware combinations with hardware and drivers.

NVIDIA has a bad reputation when it comes down to PR (oh well, which company doesn't?) but there's no reason for them to fake it. NVIDIA is said to have working silicon and the picture just shows "it works", nothing more. I don't see a plausible reason that they faked it.
