Nice case and pedastal .... :up:

Question on your Pedastal? Did MM custom fab the side panel for it, since i know the monsta has non standard 140 spacing? I would like a similar pedestal for a test bench I have with a monsta rad?

Looking good Flint. I think I will have to play more with my point and shoot before i get into the SLRs. I have started to figure out there is more to a point and shoot camera the power button and the little button thingy that takes photos. :D

Thanks jpm :up: I measured and remeasured a blank pedestal side panel I ordered from MM. Took a couple of deep breathes and showed it the business end of my hand drill. The gods smiled on me that day as the holes lined up perfectly. I shall be cutting said panel and fixing to mount some type of grill situation.

Heyas ToX :). Do it! You're in very good company here. There are a few knowledgable ladies (yes, we have quite a few here. Shazza being one) and gentlemen who are more than willing to help you get started. It can get addicting and can be a very expensive hobby. But after a successful build, it makes you very proud of yourself. And that's a pretty good addiction.

Armeniandave gave me the idea of using metal "conduits" to help aleviate the look of exposed wires. The huge MM case lends itself in providing lots of room for parts.
The price you pay for that, however, is increased difficulty in wire management. I can only hope I can pull it off as well as he did on his inspiring build.

Instead of having the motherboard tray sit flush with the bottom panel (which is essentially the midplate once the pedestal is attached), I rotated the back panel so that tray sits almost flush with the top panel.

This 1/8" thick wall bar will provide support for the tray, be the cpu's res mount, and hide the wires that feed the power to the components within the pedestal:

I hope to have some more drilling done on the bottom panel. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I am able. It's awfully late and I'm beginning to see in double vision beginning to see in double vision.

The conduit is a cool idea. I like that you are using that square stock too. It should go well with a MM case. :up:

Thanks Winston! I can't take credit for the BP shots turning out so nice. I mean if you were to take a crappy pic of Megan Fox, it'll still be a picture of Megan Fox. :D

I seriously have no clue. I actually went downstairs with the clear intention of giving you some kind of report. All it says is "Work Surface" and no name brand anywhere to be found. I picked it up at my local Home Depot. Its made of plastic, but it serves its purpose for what I do. :yepp:

I'm currently torture testing using the stock Intel fan. (I know, huh?) I may further test using the Zalman fan. I'll post some numbers once I'm done.
Both waterblocks pictured below are HeatKillers Rev 3.0. One has been nickel plated.
After recording temps on air, I'm interested to see how much of a performance gain I'll obtain using one of these bad mama jammas (is that how you spell that?).

Anyway, I'm currently between platers, so one HK is in need of some nickel plate lovin'. I called my plater after not being in touch for a couple of years and his outgoing message said, "I've moved on to greener pastures. Thank you for your business throughout the years. I"ll be in touch."

I've emailed some plating peeps locally and they either don't reply or it's "Yeah. We don't do that here."

So I went the easy route to get one for now. Yes. I admit it. I got it off Gary. Yes. I paid that much. How does that old adage go? "Desperate times call for fast nickel plated blocks."

(And what EXACTLY are "greener" pastures? I mean since it's always greener on the other side, I actually picture him constantly jumping over all his neighbour's fences. He's an older gentleman so it's quite funny if you were to see my visual.)

If I could avoid sending the block off to have it plated then so much the better, but there must be somebody around here that can hook me up. It's not like I live in the Artic (no offense to Artic residents):

And if you DO live in the Artic region, do you folks have to water cool your PCs? Aren't your ambients cold enough to freeze water? Cuz that's super cool (pun intended).

So I have both the Classified X58 and Rampage II. And after much pondering and an involved and strenuous decision making procedure (I flipped a coin), I went with the ASUS board. The Classified will be fitted in my next build - a LiLi with a red and black theme. Since this build's color scheme will be black and blue, the coin toss proved to be a good method for matching boards with color themes.
