Ive looked many times at phase change but they run $1000.....to much money http://www.frozencpu.com/products/73...66.html?tl=g49:shakes:
unless you have a suggestion for something cheaper??

its last 2 posts :)
Hey Folks,
I have a 955BE with 4GB of DDR1800 (Actually it's 2 of DDR1600 and 2 of DDR1800 but they are the same Micron chips from SuperTalent). I'm running a kinda weak water system that I just threw into it. I'm actually using an MCW60 to cool the cpu since I could make a quick bracket for it. My temps under load at 3.8 are in the mid 50s. I cannot even think of getting anywhere near 4GHZ. My VCORE is 1.475 and my NB is high at 1.525... it seems to be happy there. Any advice on getting to 4.0 would be helpful. I've tried higher voltages, 1.5 1.55... 1.585... does really seem to help much. NB is running at 2.4 something and the memory is at 1500 7 7 7 21. Board is an Asus M4A79-T Deluxe.
Any info would be helpful, critiquing would not be helpful, any anything you might want to bag on I've already bagged on ;)
1.525v NB @ 2400 seems a bit (?) high to me...
Its you I see.........my temps are not wrong
new high scores in
3dm06 22,636 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=11837942
3dm05 30,142 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=4978076
3dm03 90,485 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=6177649
I'm temped to buy this 965.
I see much more 4.0ghz then 955 and 940.

whau, nice! whats your max validation? Can u hit more than 4300MHz for validation (set lower NB-uncore for better and higher validation)?
btw, what means this in superpi?

It means you need a better cpu, lol. :D
Most of the time that is a memory related error.
strange, in x86 with the same setings as screen up was OK, in x64 not :(. I wanted x64 run, because its in superpi 32M better , this was with 4070MHz (i tried it with 3998 MHz in x64 and x86 and diferent was very big- 17s !!! )
i want better CPU, but where is K11 ;)?
That's not due to the 64 bit OS, that is most likely due to Large System Cache being disabled in your 32 bit OS.
Ok :)
no, only yesterday and today in x64 system, in x86 was it OK (maybe really limit bussped 206 and my RAMs OC, but in x86 was ok....)
Seen it thousand times, just like the "not exact in round " error.
Just plain instability.
From experience the error above showed up with an instable memory subsystem, not exact in round is most often an instable cpu.
that problem was noted on here somewhere. there are two programs causing this in vista disabling them will make it pass fine.
Since I installed I was getting weird temps for my voltages while running with ambiant always a bit higher than my 940 at any given voltage, most recently......45c with 1.45v checked my heatsink and noticed about 1/3 of the cpu wasnt touching the HS. I guess since I installed it while the mobo was in the case I didnt notice, I repositioned it and lost 7 degrees from 45c to 38c.
