I'm happy you ended up using that board...was too afraid to suggest it..lol. I'm really very interested in seeing what that chip will do in that board in a prommie.:D
Congrats on a nice find there! I'd slap that EE sticker right on the front of my prommie if I were you. ;) I came very close to the exact setup you are running, but went with a Chaintech a64 and cpu instead, but now I get to see what I missed! Does the multi adjustment show up in the bios with that board?THANK YOU!:D

My 3dmark with 4260mhz and a r9700@ 445, 374 = 23044
So that shows real power on your part!

Maybe the Athlon-64 fans (fanatics) will stop abusing me. Who needs an on-die memory controller, sure it only requires a single point of extreme cooling (which can be costly) but the ECC-Registered is in it's infacncy waaa eeek burb error

You are conveniently forgetting the P4 EE has twice the cache of the A64, and cache matters a lot in 3D01, less in other benchmarks.
Another thing is that Intel has trouble making EEs. The failure rate on them is very high which results in thousands of 2.4 and 2.6C chips getting a castratred EE core. Those M0s are already available for more than a month and still the EEs are in very very short supply. That says something about production.
Lastly, the FX will move to regular memory and then cache wont be enough to catch up anymore.
Not to mention the price for the EE at this point... you cant compare a next generation CPU on a limited platform with a one-off CPU only made to prevent AMD from topping all the benchmarks. And the A64 doesnt require reg mem anyway

Exactly why I ended up going with the 64 instead. I would have loved to play with an EE, but it would be kinda short lived compared to the 64. I will have to live vicariously thru the brave souls who did it anyway! :D

Yep its locked, mentioned this earlier. In the section where it shows ratio 16x it says Ratio: Locked at 16 is greyed :)
Im having probs with the asus board saying "Cpu failed system test" over and over....it did this and I had to rma the last board :(
And to further add fuel to the fire, i couldnt be bothered mucking round with AMD 45,000 bios settings. I dont have the patience so thats why I leave it up to you guys - we 'smaller' guys will never compete with you guys here so we do what we can....
Im just going to have fun with my new EE cpu - I like it and thats all that matters imo :thumbsup:

Interesting situation here, I wonder if Fugger or mdzcpa has a similar exp; I needed 1.57vcore for 3.6ghz and then for 3750 needed 1.60. Now for 3850 I need 1.63. It seems that for every fsb I move, then I have to move .05vcore also :thumbsup:
I have a new 3dmark (not in sig yet) score with 300mhz slower on the cpu and 20mhz slower on both core and mem for the 9800 so I am very impressed :)
Prime has been going for about 25 mins at 3850 at 1.63vcore so Ill leave her here overnight and see how it is in the morning :)

My FX-51 on air at 2430mHz and at 466/421 went 24.5K 3dmk.
Interesting to see how the EE does with similar VC clocks.

Im using an IS7 install on a P4C800-E and have lots more left in the cpu and vid card. No mods as yet to the vid card but the mobo has a vdimm mod and is runnig at 3.2volts atm :)
oh yer, the link; 25113 I am 78 points off Macci for the No. 1 spot for all classes under 4ghz.....using 25mhz less cpu speed :thumbup: (yer I know EE vs Normal P4 but pfft :p )
Fully bed time now so will continue tomorrow :)

Good buy that one. Lucky it was suppose to be at cost. I saw it and then I saw that you had already put your hand up.. :D
I remember reading that the Asus board had a problem with the heatsink pushing down too hard on the CPU, causing this CPU failed system test. I'm wondering if that's the same problem you're having with your board? Try to experiment with the pressure on the CPU and see if that's what's going on?

LORD, ya Pluscorp were very very generous in offering OCAU with cost for the first week. Im praying for some more mhz, but if this is the limit then so be it. 3.8ghz by trait, 4.1ghz by performance :thumbsup:

I am sure the Pentium IV 3.2EE is a good CPU. The only problem is the $1200 price tag that many resellers are charging today.

I am just waiting for Asetek to release the CPU kit for Athlon 64 and then I will use my Vapochill PE to cool my CPU for another 200mhz or more if lucky.
I sure I can get it to 26K or higher after using the Vapochill.
I fun to see how AMD's lower clocked CPUs can keep up with Intel's higher clocked CPUs.
Manoj, you could probably have 26k right now by only changing your OS to Win2k, DX8.1 and a different CAT.
Manoj only problem is in Australia, FX-51 goes for AUD$1300 and SK8N for AUD$410-450 ish. Totalling AUD$1750 or US$US$1250
in USA you can get that bundle for US$1000 - 1050 or $AUD1470
while 3.2EE at cost price was AUD$1495 for Creative

I tried to buy the Pentium IV 3.2EE and the CPU was quoted to me for $1200. That is just the CPU.
At least the Athlon 64 FX performance will improve with WinXP 64bit. It is very much future proof.
