Great. If all teh casual gamers on the team implemented this I hazard a guess there will be a noticeable increase in points of all of the BOINC XS projects. So many times people forget to fire BOINC back up.

I didn't have a file originally, so I made one (and yes, it's a .xml file, not .xml.txt). As for whether it's reading it, I'm not sure what I'm looking for - never paid much attention to that tab.

yep, i'd guess somewhere around 1 out of every 2 times i play, i forget to turn it back on right after I'm done. 1 out of 10 times I forget for over 12 hrs :shakes:

and make sure you hit Advanced>read Config file



It takes about 10 seconds for it to recognise the exclusive app running, and about 10second also to recognise the app closed.

Yes you do, it's just a hidden folder by default. You can either unhide it via CMD -

Yep, I get that message - but still nothing changes. I can fire up the listed apps and BOINC does nothing, keeps right on going.

This is a long shot... but your formatting.... check the indentation. Not sure if it matters but it might.

EDIT: your seems perfect actually...

XML parsers should not care about whitespace. Your XML should all be able to be on one line if you want it to be.

Well, damn.

Multiple restarts and restarts of the BOINC manager doesn't seem to make any difference.

Anyone have any ideas? This would be very convenient indeed if I could get it to work.

Just to let you know. this is not MY fix. It *should* be common enough knowledge on what you can put into the config and cc_config files. A guy called Munday from BOINC UK has some of these tips.

Works for me now. Tested with notepad.exe being in the list.

Make double sure you have "Hide extensions for known file types" unchecked under Folder Options.

I thought I did and I did not. Open the folder and using Details view what does it list the file as under Type? Should be XML not txt.

Thanks riptide! I wasn't aware of this. Most games I run seem to be just fine but a couple have issues. This is great :)
