No, the Athlon has 2x1 MB L2 cache and it can't be unlocked because it is a native dual-core. :)

i should have known when i seen the die shots :P
but in those reviews or w/e, the 250 loses to the 550 in everything BUT gaming. i hope 1mb l2\core makes a comeback.
I just got my tracking info....delivery expected on 6-5....sweet i get to play with my new toy this weekend!
This is what just burns me inside:

Where is this vs. the e8500. I won't dispute its a contender but I'm skeptical

"Things took a turn for the better when we switched to the triple core Phenom II X3 720 as the Gigabyte has a trick up its sleeve. In the BIOS you can use a hidden option Ctrl-F1 to enter Advanced Chipset Features and then you can enable Nvidia Core Calibration "

Is this the only nvidia board to have this, as I can see no settings on my tf8200, I have unlocked my BE 550 on my Biostar TA790GX A2+

Had some time to play with the Phenom II X2 550 last night. Not to bad for a $105> processor
(Copied and pasted from a different forum to save time)
Test Setup:
CPU - AMD Phenom II X2 550
Cooling - Xigmatek HDT-S1283 w/Ultra Kaze, Apevia 120mm
Motherboard - ASRock A780FullHD 780g M-ATX
RAM - 2X1GB G.Skill DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
GPU - HIS Radeon HD4850 512MB
PSU - Corsair VX550W
-For starters I did some overclocking with low cpu voltage.
http://img.techpowerup.org/090606/3.6@1.288V913.jpg
-3.7GHz @ 1.3V>1.328V
http://img.techpowerup.org/090606/3.7@1.328.jpg
-3.8GHz @ 1.35V>1.352V
http://img.techpowerup.org/090606/3.8@1.352V.jpg
-3.9GHz @ 1.45V>1.448V

Unfortunately 3.9GHz was the most I could get out of this chip. I'm not sure if its the CPU or the 780g. I didn't have many voltage options to change on the motherboard, but even having the CPU Voltage at 1.55V, NB Voltage at 1.5V did nothing to help me get to 4GHz.
It's a rather low end board though so something tells me I can get to and past 4GHz with at least a 790**/Sb750 chipset.
Hopefully by the end of the month I'll have enough for a decent motherboard, that new Foxconn board is looking good though
Nice nice, but will the 550 work with a am2+ mobo? Maybe a dumb question but :p
Why is everyone so excited about the athlon x2 250?
