Nice work on this review. I'm about to upgrade from my very-long-in-the-tooth 939 system, I have the option of the i7 vs a C2Q, I think I'll just use the C2Q for now, and let my brother take the i7, he does much more 3D work, so I'll suck it up. :)

Another good reason to keep my 775 rig till i5/i9 hits the market and so we'll be able to have high-end C2Q on low prices as they'll be the bottom-of-the-line, but what a nice line that still can be clocked so high and kick ass some i7's in certain tasks.

now if only we could see a C2Q at 3.6Ghz vs a i7 at 3.0 or 3.2 lol
Yeah, I'm waiting awhile to do the I7 or whatever develops down the road, my wife still uses my old Q6600 G0 I used to run at 3.6, they are solid chips.
I'll spend cash on maybe on 3 good SSD's in a RAID array down the road before that, once the dust clears on those a bit and things settle a bit :)

minimum fps is overal far better on I7, From a pure gamers standpoint no need to upgrade... though once you had the pleasure to enjoy the raw power of an I7 , you prolly will not revert back (there are ofcourse always exceptions :p )
