If your still in Daytona Beach, in the mall there's a Buba Gump Shrimp restaurant that good. My family is from Florida and have family that live in many areas in Florida. I have a family member that lives not to far from Daytoma Beach and was in Daytona last summer moving my niece to Gainsville so we visit some family in Daytona that was only a 2 hour drive away. The mall has some good restaurants there. If you can wait till sunset so you can get a table outside because the breeze is nice then.

Coincidentally, I ate at bubba gump last night. The food was mediocre at best, somewhat bland and very overpriced - $68 for two people, with only a starter and main? Too much. I had a 22oz porterhouse the other night, with a starter, salad and drinks for less than $60 for two people, that tasted waaaay better.
I'm off to Atlanta for the weekend, actually sat at the departure gate in CLT.

I'm on my way back from Georgia now....:banana::banana::banana:in' MARTA just STOPPED at S6 for 20 minutes, which meant i was too late to check in...still as its a multi-stop trip (ATL to CLT, CLT to DAB), they gave me a later flight for the first leg to CLT for free, and i'll be in time for the flight to DAB, getting in at 5:41pm.
I had a BLAST here - seriously, an excellent time!
I stayed with Mike, the admin of SupraMania, where i'm also a mod - he's got a SERIOUSLY nice Mk4 Supra, built motor, T-61 big single turbo, wilwood brakes, you name it - it's got it. Most of the time we were tooling around in his Mk3, which is definitely a sleeper. Daily driven, the paint is fading, the bonnet (hood) doesn't match, cracked windscreen, dirty interior, missing front fogs, brake light out...except, the motor is a fully built 7M-GTE, all ARP hardware, MHG, 57 trim CT26....and its a manual. It's hilarious to see fools in downtown Atlanta trying to take him on, this thing is almost as insane as mine!
But yeah, aside from that, we did Bowling (100 average for me, 130 for mike - i need a progrip), went to the mecca of geekdom that is Fry's electronics where i bought mike the 1st season of battlestar subsequently turning him into an instant fan :D
Then, eating at a place called 'The Right Wing' in Woodstock, GA where i had a 'full taft, with bacon' - jesus, i actually STRUGGLED to eat that.
Last night, went to Gordon Biersch in downtown Atlanta, met up with a few more people from Supramania and inhaled an 18oz Rib Eye with Gorgonzola Butter and garlic mashed potato.....OMFG. SO GOOD!
I didn't manage to take load of pictures, but i did break the camera out a few times, go see:

Very interesting updates so far. The Martin Luther King Boulevard thing got me. Everywhere you go, that is exactly the truth. Even in my state it is exactly as you described it.
The food thing is always funny. When I have friends from the UK and France visit it is interesting to see their reaction. When they come over we never go to nice restaurants, all they want is fast food and American food. What I find funny about that is that with my normal group of friends we never eat at those places since none of us like it.
