Well, I decided to unlock the cache after all by scrapping the surface to get to the contacts, even if it meant destroying the chip but I was successful... :DQuote:

i may have missed it somewhere, but which bridge do you scrape and then connect to unlock the 256 L2 cache? (just got my 1.4 mixhb )
I just got 5 2400+ thortons. Gonna give it a shot now. Tried it on a Duron last week, no problems.
I notice a big difference while folding as WU's fold faster but it became a bit unstable after the mod.Quote:

got me a miuhb 0338 XXXX last week. it's a 1,6ghz duron. the first thing done was the bridge mod! :)
placed it on my brother's nf7 and fired up his rig. unfortunately no extra cache. :(
but the chip's nice. with his s***** hac v81 air cooler there's 2,5ghz @ 1,875v.
turned his pc on a day later and was surprised. 256kb l2 cache? :D
maybe the conductive silver just had to settle down some time.

I've got a Duron 1.4 here, and from what I see, you mod the last one in the L2 row..
Haven't had any success trying to l2 mod it :(
what stepping is your 1400? it's probably "super locked."
chile: Week 37 MIXIB. A person on Overclockers AU has the same week & stepping so the chances are that it was an early super lock are slim.
on the applebred, you mod the last L2...i did it on my 1600 and it works fine...did you use conductive pen/paint or a pencil? i pencilled mine...
