While that is a bit silly, you don't need to be so mean. :P
sli connectors, rotf, have you been living under a rock?
You can do it with software. R0/1/JBOD is practically 0 overhead.
The card looks fat, might be a tight squeeze.
hahahaha:ROTF::ROTF::rofl::rofl:
Didn't even crossed my mind that it was the bottom of the card I was looking at when I glanced at the pic and got my hopes up!!:D:D
:D
That said... the card looks crazy big, now that I give it more thought. Such a FAT, low riding plastic shell could give some woes to installs...
only 1500$ ? idk about you guys but thats a bargain!
we need more pcie ssd!
 wow awesome!
I am fully aware that you can plug this into a PCI-E x16 slot but I want to know if any motherboard manufacturer is going to release a desktop board with an x8 PCI-E slot.
Give me 3 x16 slots, 2 x8 slots and 1 x1 slot on a motherboard and I'll be happy :D No need for PCI slots anymore IMO.
That's actually a pretty decent price for 1TB at that level of performance... *IF* the random performance is acceptable. Not that I can afford one, but I'm sure someone can.
Maybe someone at OCZ would be nice enough to slide one my way free? Me love you long time.
They can slide 1 one my way at that price, I wouldn't mind ^^
Just imagine! Instant p0rn play... errr I mean instant Office loading of course! :D
As I see it, this is nothing else than 4ssd`s and a raid-controller in a fancy package ;) Better of buying components seperatly, lets say: 4 x X25-E + ARC-1680 :D
It needs to use a PCI-E ribbon cable so you can put it somewhere other than the slot and just have a ribbon going to the slot.
Guys, i know we're all Xtreme and all but can you guys imagine how much this thing weighs? with that big ass heatsink? and 4 drives sitting atop it? Retention brackets may be necessary... or something like a videocard retention system that highend cases from LianLi have.
The thing looks bigger than a GTX 295.
That looks so sweet and even if it weighs a tonne, I could'nt give a rats ***, just imagine freeing up all the those 5.25inch bays for a nice tasty watercooling rad.
sli like connectors?? that pic shows the pciE interface :slap: :P
sounds nice! can the individual ssds be upgraded or replaced?
i hope they can scale this down to a more mainstream price point, then it should be really interesting...
im woried about the dimensions though, it looks like it needs a free slot above it since the heatsink on its back side is quite thick...
It's pretty cool, I like it, but when I don't think many people will have room for it when you have CFX/SLI, Sound Cards and a Raid Card installed.
Picture of the size of the card :P
