The picture on Provantage is actually an old dual 1207 board ;)
I would assume the asus has a better layout.

i refuse to buy from provantage on prelaunch stuff.
i ordered my p6t-deluxe and it was sitting in there warehouse for 2 weeks b4 i bugged them enough to mail it out.
The other website is sold out. :\
Otherwise i would be all over this right now.
also i want the X version, with the uber sata ports so i can keep my 1680ix on sammy.
But dave, yeah provatange will charge and hold like that. Its more painful when you have something ordered and it stays stuck on at warehouse, vs waiting for the board to buy.
the second link is the board i want is sold out.
And Sammy will be accompanied by LIND!

Times 2. :T
bastids ... I need a towel
And I will have to wait for another 6 months before this finally gets to Australia :(
Want! Oh god do I want!
And are these using standard LGA1366 mounting holes by any chance? That'd make waterblock/heatsink choice SO much easier.
And OC'ing options on a server board... Assuming it doesn't turn out to be another Z7S WS, I'd be all over that like a fat kid on a cupcake (if I could actually afford one :p:).
Eller
Judging by the looks of it, this board probably wont feature OC settings. Unless that PCB ain't final ofc. Asus usually only uses green PCB for their "real" server boards, which never had OCing options, unlike their workstation boards ( see DSEB-D16 vs. Z7S WS).
Also this would be horrible to run even if it could OC, the VRMs can't be cooled properly so they'd probably burn and die sooner or later.
I am waiting for a real mobo...
Some more buy links, first one claims to have 3 in stock...

Can you run two i7 920s in this board?
no, you need 2 QPI links which the "desktop" CPU's dont have.

Gainstown cpu info and chart so some of this makes sense:
and as you can see my chips arent listed in that.
Which is why I and a few other people were scratching our heads for a long time.
I dont know if my processor is even intended to be seen by the public.
I still vote for my turbo mult theory...
I think you got an early version of the W5580..
That's all that makes sense to me and we will not know for sure until we get those into an actual Gainstown board.
I got tired of looking and last night went and asked someone with direct access to the manufacturers for help.;)
then cpu-z would of showed it as 2.93
Also turbo on doesnt work on a p6T.
then dave cpu-z would show 3.2
Pop in your 2.93's run a cpu-z on the SO. Watch, its gona say 2.93 and not 3.07
It has to be something in between the W5580 being workstation cpus. And the X5570. Possibly something like a X5580 was what we originally thought. But no such thing as a X5580.
