You're completely right there, Lee.

I run 50 IBT runs from time to time, maybe because I have a compulsive disorder, to make sure my QX9650 is stable at 4 ghz @ 1.375v (1.360-1.368v load; max temp 68-71C) but I really should stop... who knows what damage I may be doing?
I don't even keep it at this speed; I run it 24/7 at 3 ghz -3.71 ghz @ 1.25v.

Besides, if you know your system is stable at a certain temp (that you will -never- reach in day to day usage anyway), why is it really necessary to heat it up 10C *PAST* That temp? (comparing prime95 @60c max vs IBT @ 70c max?). Lets take a situation like, you know your CPU is fully prime stable (small/blend) if its at 65C or lower at that vcore; Prime never exceeds 60C, but IBT goes up to 70C and therefore it fails. Does that mean you're unstable? Of course not. You're unstable in linpack, but not anything else since nothing heats up the CPU that much.
Now it's nice to say "yeah, i'm ROCK solid stable and nothing on the planet can crash (the CPU...RAM is another matter), but you get the point.

The main reason I see linpack being good (even though you are actually prime stable) is because you run linpack for a far shorter time, which therefore gives you less downtime, and your CPU is stressed less *IF* you can keep the the temps down. But the compromise is that linpack heats your CPU hotter than anything else, even past its "stable" temp point. So people may wind up pushing their vcores *higher* than necessary for 24/7 usage just to get linpack stable. Linpack is an official Intel tool though so you know if you pass it, nothing "official" can bring the CPU down.

My question is, what if someone (similar to what the author of BurnBX/BurnP6 did) manages to write a program that heats your CPU 5C hotter than Linpack? Would people flock to that as the new ultimate stability test?

IBT get me 100% stable, before that i crash in 100% WCG running and playing Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box.
after i tested with IBT i now sure i 100% stable this time, after 5 runs in IBT.
the max temp is 67C but now on WCG 100% running is only 50C.
so fine only for 18 minutes like my CPU is hottest but i think its worth that now i 100% stable.
i hate to wait 5 hours or more with Prime95 or others, IBT is short and good.

but is it IBT 5 runs make some damage?
i run this like 6 times maybe in different settings.

i am not stable yet :(

Are you still on 1613 bios ? Try one of Ket's modified biosses mate if the problem still persists

i not the guy for modified biosses, i prefer retails.

yes you can via eg Koda's flashing tool , but you need an USB stick for that or a CD ... read the instructions how to setup the stick or cd carefully pz... it worked fab every time link here mate :

first i clear CMOS then i update.

Don't think 1613 allows downgrading, you just have to try...

ok so i go with the Koda's.

now i try one more time to get stable, if not.. go back to 1406.
i set NB to Auto and PLL to 1.52V, if its no good please tell me.
