The non-XE are multiplier locked, not overclock locked... you cannot set higher mem multiplier than 8, for example. Indeed, this hinders ocing somehow. :down:Quote:

All memory multipliers are available on i7-920 and i7-940, but only with newer bios revisions on most motherboards. ASUS P6T and Rampage II Extreme have them locked on earliest bios revisions.Quote:

they are definately locked on some ES cpus, if they are unlocked on retail chips thats great news! :D
