Yea, it's pretty solid. Now I haven't used it as a "daily driver" but it's been at 100% load the last 24 hours and no issues.
When I was pushing it up over 4000mhz it was predictable.
You knew what was going to happen 85% of the time before you left the bios and went back to windows.
Once you understand what does what in the bios it's very easy to work with.
There is also a windows app from Intel that lets you do your tweaking within windows but I stuck to BIOS settings as thats what I'm used to.
The boot up time is a little longer than say my asus P35 board but no where near as long as my dualie Supermicro boards.
It gets into windows and then seems to be checking a few last parameters and then bingo it's fine.

Interesting point, and I'm glad I ran F@H on it as that proves the cpu power.
No artificial benchmark that can be misinterpreted.
If RR's water cooled QX9650 at 4000 gets 3300 a day and this will do 5000 then the issue is settled.
That's a 66% improvement and no one can agrue the numbers and that is with HT turned OFF!:up:
Add into this that the Nehalem was at 3733 during the WCG and F@H testing so it was running app 300mhz less than RR's QX9650!:yepp:

How could I have missed this thread hehe..

I was looking at the fahmon shot with the single instance and the gso, but you hid the ppd pane for each client, just shows the total :( There are more configurations you could have tested btw, since you say only 63% cpu usage I assume that was with ht enabeld. Maybe running dual smp and gpu('s). Maybe the single smp would have gotten a big boost with ht off, having the full four cores for itself only to share with the gpu client.

Meh I complain to much :rofl:

Imagine how I felt watching a single crummy quad walk across the room and wizz all over my Harpers and smile while doing it!
The thing kills the clovers and almost matches the harpers and they are running 25mhz faster with double the cores..:rofl:

I didn't measure it but I'll grab a kill-a-watt this week and find out.
I do have a EVGA 9600GSO card in there also but I don't think thats a killer on elec..My guess: 190-210w at 100% load and if thats true and it does give the 30K a day this is an incredible winner.
The clovers pull 420w to make 22K and the harper pulls 320w to make 35K a day.. I never measured the Q6600..

Now, with 10 days until my birthday....I said to Sarah today that I didn't quite know what to get myself for a present. I think it's becoming clearer to me now....:ROTF: (Just please don't tell Dr. SiG. I was doing so well too....:eek: He did warn that there might be some "setbacks" now and then. Yeah, that's what this is, a setback....I'll save the real cruncheritis attack for when I fill up rack three....)

Just for further reference, frankenserver pulls 318 watts, boinc loaded. That's at 3.6gig running an FSB of 423 on the same SM board you have.

I'm also curious how Nelly does on power. If she's fairly efficient, it could make up the cost difference over time, if your power costs are high enough. I'm going to do some kind of high tier flavor for my new main, but I need to begin determining what the farm "workhorses" will look like. The Q6600s were the sweet spot for kents, I'll have to start looking at the rollout line up now....

It is good to hear that the mobos all seem to be fairly well cooked, based on what I've been reading. I might go after the gigabyte board first. I'll have to do some more homework.

I can't wait to see all the reviews on boards...I think we are all in for a treat now that SLI can be achieved on the same boards as CF. Its going to be a great couple of months...and the PPD is going to skyrocket!

I noticed that Gigabyte board myself. Looks sweet.
Now since I happen to think your a decent guy and hate to see you spend money that you don't have to I would suggest you wait a little and see what happens.
The etailers right now are shall we say raping the public with the prices I've seen tonight so I might give it a few weeks to cool off before you start digging out the plastic..;)
It will also give you time to see what this one actually gets for numbers not my guesstimates.
The points awards could go anywhere from 25K a day to 40K but I think that 30K will be the number.

No worries, I am looking to do my homework first....After all, Christmas comes right after my birthday and I seem to have a habit of combining a gift to myself for these occasions...:rofl: I have to admit, I've been really good this year.....
