Amazing bandwidth...
I think 6 gigs are totally enough for 80% usage.
Really incredible bandwidth & latency
I assume you are using 1.8v for the ram for those speeds and timings, yes? As anything above 1.65v is deemed absolutely unsafe by intel, I'd be interested to see what the ram can do when staying below 1.65v. If you could show some benches of this I'm sure it would be appreciated.
I think I just cried while seeing the results ... 20 GB/s + ~_~ Insane
Wow !
Insane Results indeed ! I agree with the rest that 12GB is an overkill.
BTW, what would be a comparison for a DDR2 Bandwith/Latency ? about 12GB/s ?
P.S.
The name of the MotherBoard is Eclipse, not Ecliose. ;)
MSI seem to have found their own little niche market, don't have any idea what kind of person is drawn by their appeal... Company's on a downward spiral since it's K8 heydays. Even this X58 is already lagging behind compared to the big boys... Are they mainstream mobo makers or enthusiast mobo makers or, 'value' mobo makers now? If things stay this way I see them riding their faux-copper roller-coaster heatsink to the same place ABIT have gone...
are these kind of numbers legal under NDA?
Holly ****! There are absolutely unbelievable Everest results! Good job.
Congrats MSI. Great mobo.
The MEM performance is the reason I'm interested in i7, nothing else. Bloomfield is too expensive to me tho, I'll wait at least for Lynnfield b4 I might upgrade but I'm in love with the triple channel performance.
And why WOULDN'T 6GB RAM be enough? For me it would be enough at least for 3 years+.
OMG, next upgrade will burn ahuge hole in my pocket. :D
I can see triple channel kits coming -- no more than 1.65v please. :p:
crazy bandwidth
congratulations man !!!
Yeah ! Great
Damn, 1.352v Vcore for 3615 and 1.400v for 3.734 :S
This is totally amazing bandwith., nice runs.
bandwidth is ridiculous, if someone told me we would see scores like that when P4s were about, I would of laughed..
Wow, just unreal...
Huh???
MSI are awesome. Lower price for top end stuff, and the lollercoasters are pretty and do an awesome job with cooling. They are only going upwards to me, I have no idea why people here dislike them so much.
I was going to skip Nehalem and wait for 32 nm CPU's, but I just might get tempted again by this :p:
But I would like a tripple channel motherboard with just two PCI-E slots, I dont need 3.
Just about all the DDR3 kits I see are rated for operation at 1.8-2.0v, and backed by a lifetime warranty, so I see no problem. Intel are just advising against overclocked ram, but there isnt anything wrong with it.
Cellshock 1866 Mhz triple channel kits are already available for pre order:
3x1 Gb
3x2 Gb
Really expensive, I will wait untill the G.Skill 1600 Mhz ram drops in price.
bhavv
Wow, thanks for the links! CellShock is the best! I love very much that tripple sticks.
I think it will be too expensive for me to upgrade right away. I will wait for price drops, or even try and wait for the 32 nm die shrink in 1-2 years time.
But I can never resist. When I see something I like this much, I want it :(
The minimum DDR3 ram I would want is G.Skill 2x2 Gb HZ, and that still costs a lot. Maybe in 3-6 months time DDR3 will be even cheaper, or whenever I can get premium DDR3 ram for £99 liike my Flex-II's.
OMG!!!! this is some good stuf
Intel is not advising against overclocking the ram at all, and I'm not concerned with damaging the ram. Intel have advised that using more than 1.65v vdimm will damage the MCH of the nehalem cpu, hence the sticker over the ram slots of X58 boards saying exactly that.
