bloomfield is sick in this chessprogram... 3.2ghz beat 4,4ghz. :p:
Look forward for your results..i think you just need 3.7Ghz - 3.8Ghz to take the first place!!
Opteron sux ballz. :( :dammit:
Here's my problem. I gave my word that I wouldn't post numbers or benches until the NDA is lifted and us old farts like to keep our word but I can say this;
Your going to have to push those numbers a lot because with just 2 hours playing I got them beat and I mean by a LOT!;)
I'm not saying that to brag but this thing is a beast!:yepp:
Thanks OBR...just a perfect screen:up:
Okay..here also my calculatings in a excel file about how many procent faster the Nehalem will be at same speeds!
my score at 3880MHz is on the way ...
We have a new leader...like i have said and calculated..this is a great cpu!!
1) TogaII142JD-8cpu 21/45 02:17 130.670.694 7.599.623 +0,21 Nehalem @3.875Ghz(Core i7 965ES)DDR3: 9-8-8-24
Many thanks to OBR
JP.
A big thanks to Rol-co:up: for his time and tests he do for me!! Just great:clap:
We see here very clear how fast the new core i7 is.
Just compare a Skulltrail @4.2Ghz and the core i7 965Ex @4.2Ghz!
1) TogaII142JD-8cpu 21/47 02:05 132.628.680 8.434.120 +0,25 Nehalem @4.2Ghz(Core i7 965ES) DDR3: 8-8-8-20 Rol-co
4) TogaII142JD-8cpu 21/46 03:46 208.317.723 7.345.841 +0,26 Skulltrail 2xQX9775 @4.2Ghz DDR2: 4-5-5-17
There is a difference from 1.088.279 nodes per second!! and that for a single cpu!
I know Rol-co will still tune his system to get more...:yepp:
JP.
Hmm..Until now I have only tried Bloomfield at 2,66GHz, but maybe there is more to it ....hehehe :D
wow, and i was seriously considering getting a kickass 5400 based rig instead of nehalem.
no longer.
Well, Monstru just run his core i7 920(ES) for me:up:...and asked him if it's possible to run @3.8Ghz!!
He gives me a very nice result, look!
3) TogaII142JD-8cpu 21/47 02:21 135.337.470 7.670.355 +0.20 Nehalem @3.85Ghz(Core i7 920ES) DDR3: 8-8-8-19 Monstru
5) TogaII142JD-8cpu 21/46 03:46 208.317.723 7.345.841 +0,26 Skulltrail 2xQX9775 @4.2Ghz DDR2: 4-5-5-17
This 920 beat easy a Skulltrail...
Thanks Monstru...but i think you can do better;)
List updated regular (first page)
Thank you Jean-Paul, I will try to do better, but now I have a whole bunch of tests to run. :)
Remember, we also have a 4-core Nehalem@4.2GHz beating an 8-core Nehalem@3.1GHz.Quote:

This benchmark doesn't seem to scale so well with multiple cores. I wonder if/when there will be a Nehalem Skulltrail. Until then, it's not clear to me that non-overclockable Gainestowns will be better than overclockable Qx9775's.Quote:
7) TogaII141SE-16cpu ... 6.843.413 ... Gainestown 2xNehalem @3.07Ghz
Hi jt1..to my calculatings will a Gainestown or Nehalem Skulltrail at the same speed @4.2Ghz have +9.3Milj.Nodes/sec.
and that is much higher!
But i agree the scaling from TogaII is not so good as other chess engines i have! But still,if i use always the same engine for every system,it's equal for
test results i get..so it's very clear what system is faster!! The software i use is freeware but a top chess engine!
The result you take from 7) i get this at 8 August..at that time cpu and MB where in pre-test like ES!!
and it's a other TogaII version,because that time i didn't have a 16core version from TogaII142JD.
For the rest i use the same TogaII142JD from 2 till 16cores.
JP.
My result with 920 @ 4.1Ghz :) 20x206
Mem CL 9-9-9-24 1T @ 827Mhz 6GB.
CPU very hot :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::up:
21/51 03:00 194.612.212 8.621.333 +0.32
Just great StrangerS:up:...perfect screen and you take the first place!!
6Gb memory helps alot, nice speed gain!!
Thank you very much for testing:clap:
JP.

Hey Rol-co...again take the first place:clap:
Today i get many results..so there is a nice update in my list!
Every time i get new results will be marked as "New" then you can follow more easy what is changed in my list.
A very big thanks to Rol-co (still busy testing :) ) for all his time and try to get out the max.
Also many thanks to StrangerS he send me today 13 results!!
And ofcourse thanks to all testers to help to make my nice list!!
JP...will continue...;)
