I have a small problem I hope someone has a answer to, I'm having a problem getting my memory voltage over 3.10v I did the vmodd for the mobo and also did the 3.3v line vmodd for the psu but my 3.3v line is already at 3.51v and I still can't get over 3.10v for my ram any ideas. And I really don't want my 3.3v line at 4.00v so I can get 3.20 to my ram cause I don't think the mobo will like that much,lol.

Like I said earlier, this seems to be a limitation of the mobo. The difference between the 3.3v rail and max vddr seems to be around 0.3v. I think the only way to increase it further is by increasing the 3.3v rail. I'm gonna try 3.7-3.8v tonight and see what happens.
Maybe some crazy mofo could try lifting the VCC pin and powering the voltage regulator off the 5V rail, but I'm not about to try it.

Guys i did the mod as per the pic and i think i was successfull but here is my problem...
The mobo shuts down after like 2secs and only the orange light is on ... when i check the vddr i shows me 2.8 defult from 2.6 ...so i take it the mod went pritty good.... but y on earth is my mobo shutting down always ... after removing the ground from the mod...the mobo comes back on....but no mod :(... this shutting thing also happens if i take the 3.3 above 3.69v and by default the voltage is already @ 3.55v...pls share any info u got with me... cause this mobo is a very nice one... i am getting some great results with it
I had mine that high(3.60v) before to but it shut down and never turned back on. Killed the mobo so I haven't had the balls to go that high agian.
Does K8N have the same mod as K8NPro ??? Cause i can't find R 405...
Corrupt, did you kill yours with a high 3.3v rail? Mine has been running for a while at 3.6v+.
Benny, please post a close-up pic of the vdimm area. They might have labeled the resistors differently, but the general setup should be the same. All we are doing is taking the vsense/fb pin from the nearby winbond chip to ground with a VR.
James, maybe you should try another ground? I think I am using the mounting hole in nearby corner of the mobo for ground.
I think thats what killed it never know for sure though, it was the only thing done to the mobo everthing else was still stock, was trying to get alittle more voltage from the memory without vmodding it at the time and as soon as I turned it up that high it was fine but it started getting unstable then it shut down and never posted again. So I don't know only thing I could think of doing it and kinda been scared to do it again to find out,lol.

Just did the vdimm mod but it's not working right ??
Used a 1K VR to power fan header ground. Set the VR for 1K OHMS set vdimm in BIOS to normal...and started lowering the resistance...measureing at the MOSFET in the picture..after turning the POT for ever the max I get 2.7v???
Am I missing some thing here :) Should I have set the BIOS mem to +3 and went from there ???
bias_hjorth, you can measure vcore from the mosfets behind the cpu. It's the same leg of the mosfet that is used for measuring vddr. You should probably solder a wire onto the leg and measure from that. There are a lot of components and sticking a multimeter probe back there is dangerous - Marquzz fried his board measuring it.
Blue078, try using a different ground. Fan header grounds are not always a true ground. I used one of the mobo mounting holes as a ground.

does the vdimm mod require soldering unlike the vcore in which u can use grabbers - right?
Runner I dont see how you could do it any other way but solder thie is nothing to grab on the vdimm mod..
But it's realy not as diffacult as it seems :)
the Gigabyte K8NNXP looks like a verry nice oc board. How is the onboard audio ? And is there no NB v-Mod jet ?

Where is the real measure point for the Vcore?? and where can I find the vNB?
This should be vcore .. and I suspect that the other voltage you have there is chipset, although it may be VAGP..
The yellow arrow is pointing to the MOSFET leg that corisponds to vcore adjustments..this is were I have been measureing from on my K8N Pro .
CAn some of you guy's post your oc results with this board ? i'm verry interested.
