without msi written on it one could mistake it for a abit board:p:
good to see msi learned a lesson if it comes to layout, that board certainly helps increasing the cant wait for nehalem factor for me.

I wonder how hot will the x58 run.
turbo button rocks but will the board rock too?
I like those little switches very much!
But why two with the power symbol? Only clutters the area and complicates things...
Also any ideas of that little DIP switch labeled "cpu clk1"?
Well, as far as I'm concerned these x58 boards all look sexy to me. In the fall it will be probably to much to resist. :yepp:
Black and blue, very sexy! And no lollercoaster!
That really looks top quality.
Is it just me though or does one set of pictures have 2 black pci-e 16's and a blue, and the other with heatsinks has 3 black ;)
Very nice looking board. Clean layout and with a decent colour scheme, a combo thats becoming increasingly rare.
My brother had one of those. One of its USB ports fried my ipod, and there would be sparks from the USB whenever you would pull a mouse or whatever out of it. Also, it would often shut down after pulling/plugging something into the USB ports.
Then, one day, my brother said one of the USB ports began to output a thick, quick-moving stream of dark smoke. He immediately unplugged the computer, and the motherboard never worked again.
Talk about a fire-hazard. Geez, lucky he was there.
Don't know about MSI after that incident...
This was all after of course about 4-5 years of usage but still...
Definitely a change in a good way for MSI. I like the layout, color scheme and, like everyone else, 10 SATA connectors.
- Separate mosfet sink
- very good pci-e/pci layout
- 10 sata ports
- Clear cmos button on rear panel
etc
Soo awesome!
If it overclocks well ill probably get one... im a bit cautious because its MSI, they usually find a way of messing it up in the end
dip switches and a turbo button!!!! blast from the past and i like it!:D
Uh-oh. Turbo button?
I have an ominous feeling about this...
Love the layout, but what's with the power regulation?
Seems a little... gimped compared to P6T and all.
Good layout.
The board has undergone some significant changes since it first appeared at Computex...
- Removed on-board audio
- Changed slot layout (presumably for audio add-in card)
- Removed power connector near first peg slot
- More power phases near X58

Last but not least they got rid of the ugly deal-breaker colors. The way I see it, all other things being equal, why buy the ugly one?
The new revision of that board is pure MSI seckz.
nearly perfect PCIE placement, the only problem are the last 2 which should switch places with the 2 PCI. Cause you cant possibly put anything on the last PCIE as it is so close to the usb and case connectors.
7/10
I see 10 sata and 2 eSATA
Cx/sli?
