GTA IV was a MAJOR step down from Vice City (I didn't play San Andreas). No buying properties or businesses, horrible music, the driving was too realistic, and the missions were far too repetitive. I sold it once I finished the last mission.

Funny thing is I'm reading this news and the song I'm listening to is Propellerheads - History repeating :D
Just like older GTAs
:)
everybody and there mom already knows this.
As for the game itself, it doesn't exactly look next gen on the ps3. (it looks like crap, i was expecting alot more, but it was very aliased and the colors and rendering made it look like a san andreas mod.)
I'm sure someone will post some pics to prove me wrong, but the ttis didn't really challenge themselves on this one.
w00t! Im looking forward to this one, and the modding community that will be following it much like VC and SA.
Im sorry, malaysian pc magazine = confirmed? i smell TRS as perkham puts it.
Ill play the single player and have some fun, and when bored like GTA 3 I have now (old I know, but strangely awesome with some mods and cheats) I will run around and blow :banana::banana::banana: up and die in crazy ways and do car stunts. But the biggest thing I have been waiting for, for centuries for GTA to have, which it finally does and will be amazing once it hits PC... is the multiplayer, havent played the game yet, but the multi options sound so damn fun, exspecially in the hands of the PC world.
confirmed or not who cares, we all know its coming regardless....whatever anyone says. They just dont speak of it cause they dont want pc owners with consoles to wait, profit, profit, profit. But I agree, confirmed from malaysian magazine LOL, better yet, malaysian magazine image.

they will start selling it on november 18/21.
a bit late, i was hopin for august / september.
When it comes to games such as GTA the question is not if it will come out on PC but rather when it will come out on the PC. That being said i look forward to playing this game with my mouse. If there ever was one game that you could do insane amount of head-popping headshoots with a mouse GTA is it. Maybe this time i might shoot down all the flying rats.
Dont want. Already beated 3x on 360. Anyways...
Map isn't big enough, but that is X360's fault for holding back PS3's Blu-Ray. I wish they would add more stuff for 2-player mode. I had fun traveling to Las Vegas replica in San Andreas with 2 player. Priceless.
Too late now, already had fun blowing up the city a few dozen times. Fun game but that's sooo Summer 2008 :p:
not that I'm aware of. The 360 version I heard is running at 720p w/2x AA though it's got more pop in, maybe some other quality degredations. Either way GTA + PC + 1920x1200 FTW!
What d'you mean? Did they take something out? If it's in reference to the multiplayer, I haven't played it myself so I don't know. Actually I don't even think I knew GTA4 had multiplayer until reading this thread.
yeah, tbh, it's funny as hell that even console games are being consolized (to work on both consoles in the same way)... lmao!
that's just sad. i think none of both consoles is maxed out, as developers try to find a way for the game to work on both platforms, while leaving some advantages of the specific console behind.
that's just my impression now and then.
I'd imagine it hurts it even more now that we're often using multiplatform game engines. I don't know this for a fact, but just taking the Unreal Engine as an example. It's gotta be taking sacrifices in both performance and features to some extent in order to work so well on all platforms. Back in the day it was much more common place to just build an engine from scratch for every game you made. I certainly don't blame them from moving away from that as games become more complex, but there's sacrifices that come with everything.
I tried the game on a PS3 and I also think the driving became too realistic for this kind of action-oriented game.
