i couldnt get in vista 64 more than 100 mhz
strange, but i never had issues with AOD on my msi k9a plat on xp 32bit
oh btw, waiting for 750 board to hit shops, first thing on my buy list at the moment :) for sure will buy the new gx series, not sure if i will replace both my 780 and 790fx that i have know.
32-bit Server 2008 Enterprise 60 day trial (240 days if renewed): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
It is basically Vista 32-bit with PAE functionality, meaning it will address 64GB of memory (probably <4GB per thread though).
It should work automatically, but maybe you need to add the /PAE switch to boot.ini.
All my clockin was done in vista 64bit, 3.4GHZ+ was quite easy...so you saying I will reach 4GHZ in XP?
LOL I doubt it :(
I think it is CPU specific how different they will behave in 32bit and 64bit. For example my first 9500 did 2.45GHz in 64bit and 2.6GHz in 32bit stable.
Then my 9600BE did 2.5GHz in 32bit but was not stable in 64bit even at 2.0GHZ!! Replacement came from same batch and the story repeated with a small difference that it did 2.2GHz stable in 64bit - another RMA. Then finally I had 9600BE which was stable up to 2.6GHz in 32bit and 2.33GHz in 64bit. No matter voltages, HTT, RAM. My friend got 9600BE which can do 2.5GHz in 64bit stable. I've tried most of these CPUs on 2 different boards, my Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6 and MSI K9A2 Platinium.
Now I'm sitting with 9850BE @2.73-2.77GHz in 64bit, anything more from BIOS and no-boot to desktop. I can set 2.8GHz in AOD but system will froze while idling.
In depth preview up!
It was down, now its back up =D 3.5 on a 9950!

where??
Looks like this ACC thing actually works, that sure will help.
I like that they are able to hit nice clocks with such low voltage =D
I wonder if water would even matter on them since they don't seem to be voltage limited, a nice Air Cooling setup would really be more than sufficiant
ahh i got it..
Only page one worked for awhile, then they took it down and put it back up again. Looks like launch time is next week.
reads like voodoo but working
but i dont know if its really time for me to change boards soon now and go phenom...
Jubilation!
If Anand can now get 3.4Ghz on a 9850 and 3.5Ghz on a 9950... that indeed bodes well. (Since their highest before was 3.0Ghz.)
Hey... they used DDR2-1066 ram! Hopefully they'll continue to use that for benchmarking.
Hmm seems to confirm what I susptected for quite some time..... that the SB600 was the main cause for the "Clock Interrupt not recieved by a Seconday Processor...." BSOD..
I'm willing to bet that the secondary processor it refers to is in fact the SB600...
The improved communication between CPU and Southbridge with the 6-pin direct link between the CPU and the SB750 resolves this particualr issue, so allowing the CPU to reveal its true potential.
At least every time I would be hitting a wall, this particular BSOD was the only BSOD that kept occurring... nothing else....always "Clock Interrupt on a Secondary Processor"
Now we find out that a new SB with a newly added direct link to the CPU, improves Overclocking....HMmmmm...?????.....Not a big stretch of the imagination....!!!!
What do you think...?????
But hey if ti works and finally Phenom can OC above 3.0GHz.... I :clap::clap::clap: them.... Took them long enough though..!!!
Whats this new product they "Don't dare mention."...???????
And also what was that about PCI-E 1.1 support only...????
I'm really excited to see how the B2's perform as well, this could be a very big win for early adopters.
Also I dont think they have the correct statement with PCI-1.1, since on the SB750 chart it's showing PCI-E v2 (presumably 2.0) I think just miscomunication
The SB750 will be magical with Deneb. Thinking about it is making me giddy. What I want to know is WTF is being released alongside the 790GX that they keep saying they "dare not mention"?! Its affiliated with AOD as well. Is there new Northbridge we don't know about? Is AMD releasing a newer CPU? Dang, I can't wait until next week now...
