Why dont they just relase the damn thing already.
Half of the world is going to have samples by the looks of it before they are even released.

Heh, I wonder if any nVidia employees are trawling through all the hardware forums thinking ":banana::banana::banana:, this aint good...".
Seems pretty accepted that ATI has all bases covered. 4850 for entry-mid range beast, 4870 for upper range resolution+AA monster and 4870X2/48700 Crossfire for utter performance powerhouse.
I'm so happy I just got my approved confirmation for my 0% interest credit card. :P
gtx 260 for $400 is amazing and my new gtx 280 ftw bottom line crushes games let alone ati..its meant to be played on nvidia with 0 issues out of the box.and btw i hope a newer hiline ati cards can finally take down 1 1\2 year old nvidia 88 series cards.
Excellent for its price. Neck n' neck with the ULTRA and low performance penalty with AA on
In their graph with average performance taking into account all games tested, it performs like hd3870, but with 4xAA !
Ill be receiving one of the Asus HD4850s tomorrow, cant wait
GeCube HD4850, $199@Turkish hardware dealer.

Look at this madness and the bad guys aren't even out yet: 4870 & 4870X2 :D
can't wait for the 4870 with 1GB :)
very surprised that even the 4850 seems to exchange some punches between the GTX 260 when AA is applied!
I'm going to die before this STUPID card is released >__>.
However, I hope the 4870 is 1.3 times better than the 4850 like AMD were saying in their marketing bs. If it isn't. . . .
Welcome :). This launch is a bit odd in terms that there is considerbly a large amount of samples out before the actual NDA expires.
I was just pointing out this fact. We will probably have more tests tomorrow on a full 16x/16x board, so we can see if the bandwidth is an issue.
So I guess this is the new 8800gt in terms of price and performance then.
If those results on the French site are true then NVidia needs to lower the price of a 9800GTX to around $160 or 170
the results from the french site seem highly impressive, and seem to echo the sentiments of the buzz beforehand, but the other review, paints a more sombre picture....so hard to say why such a difference..
^ Seriously. What a nVidiot. And hey I'm no hater; look at my sig. Though I'm pretty much already certain it's gonna say 4850x2 before very long...
this is looking good :)nice price point safe to say 4870 will be faster than a 9800gtx what the pricing on the 4870? also maybe the x2 will beat out the 280gtx who knows...
At these prices ATI ftw.
