I would love to do that for a living. Not the run a shop for needy WC folks...but you know..throw water on electrical crap. Anything that has a chance of buring is pretty fun IMO :)
lolz andy, at least some of us really experienced the actual mobo soaked nightmare... and you're still lucky that it still booted properly after cleanup... some guys don't have that luck...

hehe good test man but i still don’t dare to drop any coolant on my mobo unless its cooking veggie oil but then again that well just deep fry it with out the right cooling :p:

To be honest i only take non conductive when building. After a few months when your system has collected dust on it, once water hits it, it wont stay non conductive.

My brothers computer sprung a leak of water and the hydrix shistuff.
It got soaked pretty good. And it was on at the time.
I resoaked it with 70% alcohol(didnt have any 90%).
Threw a fan on it for a while and it came back to life. :)

I spilled water on my 8800GTS card 2 or 3 times, each time I disconnect the cpu WB (I'm stupid but whatever :shrug:) and after some soaking with a towel then some blast with compressed air then restart after 10 mins. It ran fine and it still run right now :up:
I use distilled water with pt-nuke only and this is what save my day ;)

The funniest thing tho, my brother has a h2o rig and he has no idea how to maintain it. I told him if anything was to go wrong, if he didnt have ANYONE he could goto, theres a shop in San Jose, that could help him. :T

i did this about a year ago.
As of right now, I can say that the CPU, RAM, and video card are all working fine...
The two motherboards, on the other hand, are both dead. The board that was drenched with distilled gives a second of fan spin or so and then dies while the other board does nothing at all when you hit the power button.
Perhaps I should use a little less coolant next time? :rolleyes::D
Anyway, let this be a lesson to all of you: don't pour coolants on your motherboard.

Now the question is, what to do with the two dead boards?
My vote goes to sending both to the manufacturer of the coolant, along with the half used bottle, asking for a refund.

I laughed when the board drenched with distilled actually unfroze and started working again, right before something popped and it shut down. Distilled water FTW :D
Seems that when the water hit the ram slots/24 pin connector is when it gave up.
I laughed when the computer started the test again, after Alex doused it with distilled water.
