Idle at 51C and max load (with OCCT) at 65C... weird.
still too hot inside to play much. 1 core idles 10c hotter than the other, and my block is mounted fine...

I hear the new 45nm chips have some stuck DTS on the die. Run the test on realtemp .. as far as I've read, all you have to worry about it is how close it is to TJ Max.

After some mods. So I can now conclude: this is like a E8500 with half the cache... literally. Ease of overclocking is the same as E8500.

I want to use the E7200 as the base for my home entertainment PC. How will this work with a ASrock Woldale 1333 MB, I know its cheap but thats why I want to use it. Use some Gskill 2*1GB 667 and put it into my old case using the antec PSU, Samsung 250 HD and 8800GT graphics card.
Should cost me $200 for the barebones!
One simple BSEL mod, and you get yourself a E8500 chip. You just need to tape one contact point, like... this:

If the motherboard supports overclocking, by BSEL modding, you can effectively leave your chip at the 333MHz FSB strap instead of 266MHz FSB strap. That should be an easy 333 to 400 overclock, and then, you will have yourself a 3.80GHz chip. That's how I did it with the GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H. Originally, any strap below 333MHz on the GIGABYTE GA-73PVM-S2H wouldn't let me overclock much above 333MHz.

too bad i sold my e7200 already. darn, makes me regret.
@ KAGD1, i like how your pumping 1.6v through your NB :eek: i'm assuming you have a fan blowing over it or some type of aftermarket cooling? other than that, nice clocks :up:.
It booted right up at 3.16GHz like a E8500. Hassle-free. If you have a motherboard that supports 1333MHz FSB but has FSB strap at 333MHz, then this mod is recommended. It forces the board to go at 333MHz strap originally, giving you room to go much higher than the normal 266MHz or 200MHz straps.
Originally, I could only go from 266 to 333. Now I'm at 3.80GHz, evidently.
