Looks sexy. I'd never use it or recommend it, but sexy.
For anyone wondering about the temps of their hard drives, aside from the added heat & restriction in your loop, consider what you see in this as well.

wow!
Gorgeous!
Its good because it saves some space. If it wasn't with this block I wouldn't put 4 hd's close like this.
Meh, hard drive coolers always seemed to me like nothing more than a flow killer.
I don't see the point in cooling your HDDs.
Definitely cool looking.
Dont personally see the reason for HDD waterblocks though unless its in a sound dampening enclosure and the watercooling is to counteract the added heat from being enclosed.
You know, for all those people running 15,000rpm SCSI drives.
Two? four?
Ever done ten or twelve Raptors in one case ? That machine's now striped, but it had nine Raptors and two other HDDs. Having said that, I have done back-to-back X15 Cheetahs with no cooling, and nothing has happened. I don't understand all the hoopla about watercooling HDDs.
pwned
If you can mount your HD's such that they benefit from some airflow from your rad fans, then that's enough in my opinion.
:)
What the hell would you need 9 raptors for ?
In the days of the original BF2 game, hardware was the severe limitation, much like Crysis now. Some people were loading maps in 90 seconds. I was in within 28 to 30 seconds. The first person gets the helicopter or the jet. Eight stripped drives with one swap worked quite well. I even went eight drives and four as a swap. That was just fabulous. Ever fresh installed windows in 6 minutes (and I'm not talking about win95) ?
And what the hell do you need 210 mph in a car for when the speed limit is 55 mph ?
AHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA
this reminds me of one time when i was sitting in the office, an old CEO client calls me up and asks me to pull out some money on his annuity cuz he wanted to buy a new toy.
I asked what is the new toy, he said a computer. LOL i offered to help him build it, he gladly took it. 7g + 500 dollars he gave me as a tip for helping him.
Anyhow i asked him what the need for such a machine was. HE told me he was called a Noob by his grandson in a videogame, and the problem is his system couldnt handle the specs.
Well, now his grandson is over his house every other day using that machine.
in short, dont piss off old rich folks!
LOL kinda reminds me of iany and his kid. He's trying to game with him, and i know his son's poped a DAD your a noob statement b4!
Hmmm, I wouldn't mind getting one of these if the acoustic specs were avaliable. I work swing shift and do alot of gaming after I get home (~1am) so my raptor's have killed me in CS:S more than a few times. I hate headphones so somthing like this might allow me to hear well enough with the volume almost muted.
I don't understand.
"my raptor's have killed me in CS:S more than a few times."
You're saying that raptors are noisy? They are?? Really?? How many do you have and how are they mounted ?
I thought I have a pretty quiet machine and I really don't hear a thing from my HDDs. And they are mounted directly onto the aluminum carriers too, so they theoretically ought to buzz the aluminum case like tomorrow. No, I don't hear the vibration.
Hell, when I game at night even with the speakers off, the stuff that makes the most noise is my fat ass shifting in my chair and my clumsy hands moving the mouse all over the table lol
