Have you tried CoreDamade Rammsteiner? That tool heats up the cpu very quickly. I get CPU-Temps around 65°C after two minutes. My coretemps are ~7°C below the cpu temp btw.

For good ref HT results I used DFI 307 bios other versions did not run stable above 250MHz.

Hmm my testings clearly showed that the max ref HT is cpu dependant. Of course also bios dependant.
Same with X2's, reached ~392MHz with an BE2400 and ~405MHz with an 4850e on the M3A.

No the current DFI and Sapphire bioses do not have so called AutoXPress settings in the bios.

Just quit AOD stability test after 2 hours and lowered Voltage to 1.2Vcore read by CPU-Z:D. Would be nice if it turns out to be stable ghehe.

But there'some sort of P2P option which enables 'Hyper SLI function' according to Sapphire BIOS manual. Although I guess it should be called CF but well.

I was wondering how well is phenom overclocking without AOD? Im more old school and prefer bios overclocking only

"New" D.F.I 790FX-M2R ~ 4/16/2008 "Official" Bios... Released & Posted on Front Page of Thread.

I would be willing to Bet that D.F.I has kept in suit and has not Corrected the Overvolting Issue in This Now Official 4/16/2008 Bios even though Tony has been in direct contact with them about this Particular Beta Release. I certainly hope this is not the Case because this crap is really starting to piss me off!

Achim....... could you Please throw your DMM on this thing and get some Read outs and see if they even listened to Tony who contacted D.F.I directly and Brought the Over Volting Issue to DFI's attention.. Please see if this Damn Bios is Over Volting still ?;)...Also I would like some feedback on Peoples Temps when switching from 4/15/2008 "Beta" to this New Official Release because my temps climbed when I was on the Beta Release and it was just not a Read out Error either the Blasted thing Just Ran HOT!

In my opinion 4/15/2008 is Better then the 4/16/2008 "Beta" when I tried it so lets hope they took some action with what Tony brought to their Attention.

Im wondering though, when DFI puts up a new BIOS. Be it beta or official, they have a few release notes of course. But are those release notes the ONLY thing being changed or did they also do a few other fixes, maybe not worth noting?

Just about to change from 416 Beta to official see if any discernible differences, temp/voltage wise.

I flashed the 416 stable bios and measured dmm and cpu voltages.

CPU/NB: 2.8/2.4GHz 1.3125V/1.4325V

CPU:
Bios: 1,3125V
Bios Reading: 1,3V
DMM in Bios: 1,32V
Everest(idle/load): 1,31V
DMM (idle): 1,325V
DMM (load): 1,361V

Mem:
Bios: 2,0V
Bios Reading: 2,03V
Everest: 2,03V
DMM: 2,04V

CPU/NB: 2.9/2.2GHz 1.4V/1.3V

CPU:
Bios: 1,4V
Everest(idle/load): 1,39V
DMM (idle): 1,416V
DMM (load): 1,454V

Everyone should consider that the real cpu voltage can be up to 0.05V higher than what the monitoring software tells you. (grammar correct?)

1,325V passed 1-3 and primed for 1:33min
1,3125V passed 1-3 failed prime95 after 1hr

1,325V passed 1-3 failed prime95 after 8:31hrs
1,33125V passed 1-3 and priming since 5hrs

This looks very pleasent here seems i can run 2.9GHz at a slightly higer voltage (+0.0125V) i required for 2.8GHz. Yesterday I tried a few different methods of applying TIM. I gained ~3°C better temps with a thicker layer of AS5. So currently it looks like it's very essential to keep the temps below 60°C.

Damn that is a lot of overvolting!
Dangerous, plus boards differ from one to another, even if slightly.

Damn I had used 1.55V CPU-VID in the bios for 3050GHz. Must have been 1.6V for real under load.

To clear a few issues up:

415 and 416 are the same bios, Jimmy added warning messages to 416 thats all, so if you like 415 you like 416 as they are in fact the same ;)

I have a 425 bios, working with Jimmy on the ram over volt issue, Jimmy says this bios cures it...I say otherwise although its better than the 415/416 I had. Also Jimmy has found the tRFC issue, it looks to be source code related and they have asked for a fix...we should see an update soon.

Stick with the 416 beta for the time being while Jimmy and the crew are feeding me beta files, once I see a file worth releasing you will have it

As you can see above i do not have those ram over volt issues. Also i can run 75ns tRFC's without problems. Are those ram issues relatet to 2GB modules only?
I can test that 425 bios here for comparison if you want.

Oh, glad to hear some work is done to the BIOS's:cool:.

12x230 froze after about 15 minutes at 1.275Vcore and Vnb. Upped both to 1.3V and it's Priming already for an hour, so yeah, fingers crossed. Slowly approaching 2.8Ghz. NB is at 10x multi (2.3Ghz) and HT at 9x multi (2.07Ghz).

Im still mad at AOD for completely fooling me though:mad:. I was really under the impression the CPU liked the 2.4Ghz untill I started Prime95 cause 1.2Vcore at 2.7Ghz stable in AOD was too good to be true for me... And indeed was:(.

If it's stable I really hope I can select DDR1066 and the required settings for tRFC and boot straight up at DDR1227:p:. But once again that might be too good to be true though.

Vcore is strange as others have reported. I haven't checked what BIOS b/c as they say in the south "If it ain't broke than don't fix it". So far only other issue is heat. Ninja with 2-90mm mid-case pushers, 1-120mm and 1-90mm suckers and 1-120 bottom intake hitting 61-63.

Clock 200, Multis 13.5, HT 2000, NB 2000, RAM 800.
CPU-VID 1,268V, BIOS Health 1.24V, CPUZ 1,382V, AOD 1.275V

Good move to make a new thread for Agena. Just got my 9850, and will rebulid my AMD rigg this weekend. Should I flash to 416 beta directly or is there any point in sticking with 130 to start with?
