never mind that
how did you get such a high CH in the first place :eek:
maybe that driver is better than newer ones?
Yes, all the 174.xx have "CH bug", so at this moment 173.67 is mandatory for 2001 :yepp:
Hope Nvidia can solve this in future drivers ..
2.175 Volts (set in bios) for 7-6-5-18, more or less the same voltage I use in X38 board for similar speed / latency's
Thank you all :D
OK my Target is done :D :D
110K with the E8500 on the Mini-Cascade and 9800GX2 Stock
Here is it :

Here is a photo of the setup used in the naked Mini-Cascate, temperature getting hot here so the good old NL11F's used for years in the Prometeia need some ventilation :D

OK, I can rest for now 110K with a Stock 9800GX2 is done :yepp:
:up:
rest? I think that your 2 stage rotary cascade is calling you :D
Congrats on your impressive archivement and goal Pedro...
hahaha it even wakes up the neighbours? :lol:
cool! you are still using the usb stick from cebit? :D
very nice results! congratulations! :toast:
really awsome results..i like that mini-cascade..
Beyond words really, highly optimized 2k1 run there, mr. Pedro!
:yepp:
Great run. :clap:
Is there any chance the board can handle similar speeds on the 9x multiplier?
Thank you !
In fact optimization is, by far, the much fun and challenging part of our favorite game ;)
Memory timmings and of course FSB speed play a very important part, specially for Lobbies and CH (my favorits tests of the game) and even for Dragos !
Thanks :)
Never tested, but dont see you not. Air cooled with 8.5x multi go easy to 550Mhz or even more :)
And at 550Mhz or more you can enable P2 that gives you a big boost on memory bandwith that allways help in 2001 ;)
:yepp:
Great score Pedro keep Pushing it.
amazing runs
any chance of giving us some tips :Dyou can use P1 as well at 550 pedro (p1 has the biggest impact on RAM efficiency)
i did some 5GHz runs with 556Mhz FSB with both enabled on SS phase....i'm sure it would be 560+ stable with both
but i could not boot at 575MHz with both enabled where with P2 alone no problem 595MHz FSB on SS
i would love to see you bench past 600MHz
i could not get it stable with my current CPU yet :shrug:
Dinos,
If you look of the screen cap above, the 110K run was done at 577MHz FSB, at this speed no way I can enable P1, but P2 give a good boost on Lobbies, CH and even Dragos..
Some Tips:
1 - Never give up of finding your perfect run!
2 - Test everything - mem ratios, FSB, timmings etc for the perfect spot;
3 - Don't rush - near perfect run may take a lot of atempts and time;
4 - Try Lobbies and CH first, they are the most demanding in terms of CPU and mem timmigs;
5 - Lod 4.9 for Nature, others between 3.1 and 4.5;
6 - Most important tip of all : have fun and relax, that's the main objective of the greatest game of all times :D
Now go play 2001 :yepp:
congrats for 110K @ GX2 Stokcooled Pedro !!
No doubts 2k1 is really your Fav Game :D
regards
yeah true man unless you try subzero cooling on NB probably won't happen with both P1 and P2 enabled
i asked nvidia to give me some explanations on these timings and also to give us manual access to them in case we can further tweak them but from the sound of it i think they are keeping their cards close to the chest for some odd reason................they really should have a more sharing attitude but hey i guess in business it may be more cut throat than they'd like :shrug: donno
cascade is such a perfect toy to go along with '01 tuning isn't it :up:
long stints and little pressure....always great
thanks for the tips
:up:
that's absolutly amazing! gongratulations for the milestone :D now the great cascade :up:
Fit Thermalright 120 extreme in eVga 790i Ultra?
Thanks so much!
you always remind me why we are doing this - just for fun :D
After a week offline (I finally made my move from hannover to berlin) it is so good to see nothing has changed - Pedro still with his game at his best :D :D :D
Gonna have to poke Saaya a bit for a Blue Kit "Pedro Edition" :ROTF:
Good stuff Pedro, now I gotta hunt you down with my E8400 now that I got CH fixed.
I got you beat on 2K5 still :yepp:
Pedro
did some tests last night with -40C on the chip base
CPU -15C to -20C loaded
567*9 with both P1 and P2 enabled no problems
i did a 32M run on Vista (err Win2008 Server) and got 9m13s :shocked:
considering the OS and not all tweaks done yet that's pretty bloody fast :D
just need a nice 10xmulti CPU now hahah...hopefully those E8600 chips come out soon
i'll push some more and see if i can get it stable at high-570 or 580 somewhere with both P1 & P2 enabled
how?
