i see no need for aa at very high res's but af always helps.
so the 9800gx2 turns out to be not as bad as we belived, but its still a large chunk out of some ones wallet lol.

your the man !
I want one so bad !
Thanks for posting that... very interesting. Looks like 1920x1200 very high is just out of reach, but high dx10 might be playable... even a mixture of the too. Looking forward to playing around with it. Anyhow, from your tests it seems 1650x1080 very high is prob the sweet spot for this card in crysis.

Very nice there DStealth. That is quite the high OC on the card however, I don't think all 9800GX2 will reach this high.
Does anyone know if you can edit clocks and fan speeds via Nibitor and reflash the card so it is permanently like that?
Hi Mascaras. You aren't happening to be running dual displays are you? I am wondering how the GX2 reacts to such setups. Does the secondary display automatically become disabled when 3D is run, just to re-enable when it is closed out? Or do I have to manually enable/disable the display before 3D is run. If this is the case does the system require a reboot after doing so either way, and how long does the process take before it is finished once initiated?
Hi cantankerous
unfortnatly i only have 1 Monitor right now :(
if i can test with Two monitors i will report later !
nice score DS :)
In crysis bench and all other games that driver runs OK in windows Vista 64bit , but in Crysis game its not playble , there is a strange "stutering" , its not realy stutering its like the game run in slow motion , with 174.53 Its OK :)

Nice results!
How does the card perform when it isn't ran in a pcie2 mobo? Does it go 8x/8x then and if so how much does it affect performance?
i think the performance should be almost the same !
btw: added tests in Colin Mcrae and company of heroes Dx10
now its time for enjoy the card and have some Fun in Cod4 multiplayer!

nice review like always man. seems like a sweet card, too bad its so expensive compared to the 3870X2
Do you care to comment on the fan noise? Have you tried turning it up for lower temps? Do you find it loud when doing so?
Have you thought about overclocking the card as well? I am curious as to what your particular card can do across the board at max, yet clean and stable clocks.
nice review :D
I'm curious is the shell of the card actually means anything to holding the card together? i mean can you run the card without those two covers (that the stickers are on).
if so would it be feasable to get two HR-03-PLUS's and mount them on each card -just facing outward?
i hope someone understands :D
if the cores are facing each other i dont think it would work, unless the hr-03 has both sided of the mounting polished.
fan @ auto (45%) not too noisy
fan @ 55% temps = 67º full
2k6 @ E8400 4250Mhz (500x8.5)
9800Gx2@ 700Mhz core / 2Ghz memory/ 1750Mhz shaders

Great thanks, is so 700/1750/2000 the maximum your card can do?
If you can, let me know at what % the fan actual gets to be too noisy?
Sorry for being a pain, thanks.
Nope, was only the first attempt OC @ bench i made :D
for what i saw in internet the average 9800Gx2 overclok is around 730/750Mhz Core - 1800/1850 shaders and 1100Mhz memory !
55% - 60% i already can hear fan !

Same 24/7 settings Vista :
78.5k 3d03

80k would be walk in the park under XP, also the upper result is not tweaked at all and CPU@ 24/7 ;)
In COD4 i marked something strange - if Vsync+TB are off, frames are moving from 160-180 to let say 30-40 in intensive scenes , but when they on - never going under 60:up: 1680*1050 SSAAx8Q AF16 all maxed...
@mascaras Very nice tread , sorry for posting my results in your tread, don't wanna hijack it ...just not to make another one...
so Mascaras and DStealth, since SLi is disabled on the NVidia control panel, there should be no problems with multimonitors, right... since that whole "u have to enable sli for the card to work" crap is out of the way...
great review mascaras... now u need to change desktop wallpaper :D
