so basically DFI could get away with selling X38 boards as X48 (ddr2 version)? + a $50 markup?

For extrem Overclocking is necessarily buy DFI LanParty UT X48 T2R with DDR2 Ram
or i can fully overclock system with DFI LanParty LT X38 T2R?
all sold out at MBP. Was going to get one :(
I used The Stilt's mod to flash the Rampage Formula onto my P5E and I have all the functionality of a X48 chip, which pretty much is the manually selectable Performance Level. X38 seems to have all the abilities of the X48 (not surprising, they are the same chip), the higher binning will have to be seen once retail hits.
If the layout's are the same (pwm, caps, slots, etc) they are probably cross-flashable. The X48-T2R is the one to have now and I'm sure DFI will push the bios options as they always do. Hopefully for X38 users, they could get some of dat:)
scan and tekheads are selling this board in the UK. I just spoke with a TekHeads service dude and he said they will be in stock about 2 weeks from now :)
The LT costs 165quid....That's the one I've got my eye on.
Yup got one on order from Scan
I wasn't even aware DFI was producing an X48-T2R until I saw this thread...needless to say my wish list has changed.
Wich is the diference between the LT X48-T2R and the UT X48-T2R?
I can't see.
thermalright cooling on the UT.
Cool, I'm going to order an LT and if I get my own Thermalright cooling for it, it'll be pretty much identical then?
Can we expect a X48 T3R as well??
Look at the link from MBPro. It shows a picture of the board and it most definitely has TR cooling on it. There was another one and I will look for it.
Hey, Mike.:) .....................http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/03...er_version_2/1:)
The cooler shown being installed on the NB in the picture is optional and does not come with the UT X48
