Normal stock quad at 2.66Ghz should be around 4 to 4.2K.
Printable View
Dual 2.66 Quad should be around that number. But I doubt that is what they used.
looks like pure speculation with a fake 3dmark score
yep, i don't buy this... apart from the weird cpu score why would anyone want to run 3d06 at 2560*1600 and leave no sign of it in the sshot if their idea was to brag that they used so and so hardware and that it did so and so score?!
All these screenshots and info come from an XFX intern. She is an Indian girl working in XFX R&D and has no NDA or anything. She is making broken-english posts over at anandtech saying a bunch of wierd things about 9800gx2, california r&d, "grand trim 200", 9800gtx, the origins of g92 pcbs, etc. She says she hates her job, and is just a courrier/secretary for the development of the new nvidia gpus.
Some intresting things shes said: 9800gx2 push-back is due to heatpipes, temps, and coreclock to performance ratio in the g92 cores. something about dual pcb, and 1 core sits below the other, runs hotter, and provides diminishing results at higher frequencies. Also there is trouble with the mem IC cooling solution?
A lot of her posts sound like she took notes from real guys in the R&D departments and tried rehashing them on the forum. It sounds like someone who knows nothing about car parts talking about top secret car parts.
She also gave a bunch of percentages quoting performance when compared to the 3870X2. All these quotes seem to be right on or close to what most of you guy's educated guesses already are. It could be real/fake or whatever - Either way, it is just as speculative as expreview/vrzones take on the gpuz shot of 9800gtx. Shes talking about sneaking onto her bosses email/computer to get a bunch of research screencaptures. Supposedly, this is where that gt200 screenshot came from.
Don't doubt that when gt200 hits retail shelves at the end of this year it isn't going to be optimized. these are showing alpha stages of the silicon/drivers/inf/scores etc. She was promising to tell a bunch more info over at anand forums, yet she got ran off by folks calling her an imposter/fake. Her Alias there is TulipGTX.
************************************************** ************************************************** *
Relative information she has posted:
"Responding to the PM the resolution is 2560x1600
BTW Its a single card still in ALPHA stage and has very less driver support thus it scored so low 3d mark 06 only 16K someone tells me it can score around 19-21K when launched.
I only took a 1 GPU z picture from a computer that was in the lab. ya i know its not legal i an fresh out of collage just doing this for job experience i am getting dirt (Low pay) in name of pay i am in office for almost 8 hours and do have to do some overtime when asked i feel like in intern. you know.
BTW i have got no medical via company, no benifts at all. So that is why i am posting on the forum and getting a kick out of doing it i dont love my job but i very much love this 22" lcd and the fast processer inside oh and the uber fast net See on line movies all the time but now i think stage 6 is closeing down where will i go...
Please read about the specs of my job in the post i made above i dont not care for the job the inital news about these cards were all ready on net now how do you suppose do these tech tabs get their info. through INTERNAL SOURCES inside the company and some info about 9800 gtx has allready leaked on the web
If you want to feel better you can believe that i am not telling the truth.
Ok my BF does not run my life the XFX r&d has over 600 interns of which i can be one or not so that will be hard to search me over from 600 ppl and do u have a attention syndrom of somekind again and again going up with attention this, attention that.
HI i am someone you can know about me from ( http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2140685&enterthread=y )
Anyways i have searched the net and seeing as there is no news on the temp of the upcomeing 9800 X2 well here they are i will not write the whole report only the cooler thing-
"....the cooler is passive in heat pipeing and has a limited port for copper we have achived total HD of over 4.55% - 5% as compared to 6% - 7% in G94 this is also the case for the exposed core and not the lower core (Sub0), as you may have noted we are looking at another G71 core slr problem again if we were to use a twin heat pipe system as we tried with the G71 Twin core the TTL logic IC's are just too cramped.
Our recomendation is to use the referred cooler design and to go with the specified thermal envelope. At max performance level done via. GPU multi-string manipulation we got a temp. value about 10%-12% more than a G92 at the referred speed and 19%-22% at a similar speed......"
The report is 20+ pages i cant type sooo good either...!!!
Well i cant i am not authorized to even go into the lab i just bring reports and roster to the people who work in floor 7 and 8 as my boss is R & D incharge and liaison superwiser BTW the way i see it we are getting a lot of american ppl just counted 32 guys with special tags on their neck when i was at my desk..
This comes from where http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2149352&enterthread=y left here is how i heard it stright from Ajay (A tester) the 9800 GX2 has a core that not only hotter in temp than the 3870 but is also scores better i bet that you all know that but now something you dont know:-
He told me that the 9800 gx2 slows down when a certain temp is reached.. for example the core in the bottom (which has a higher temp according to ajay) will slow down from the real clock speed to a safer speed so that the bottom core has a lower temp. but this will give it lower performance....
So as per Ajay the 3870 X2 has a advantage there as all core are on the same silicon but he says that the advantage is really pointless as in some months a new nvidia card will come and right now 8800 high end cards can give the 3870 x2 a run for its money/....
Ok i have huge news Nvidia guys were here to ask for our experts they are going to California there is suppose to be a R&D team there or sumthing this is not the big news...
The big news is they are going there to work on something called "grand trim 200" its suppose to be a new card or something he did not tell me if its another name for the 9800 X2 tough..ANyone know about this ohh ya its suppose to be 50% faster than 8800's fastest card i am doing overtime today due to the meeting its 1.20AM here!!! Jesssus
HI i am someone you can know about me from ( http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2140685&enterthread=y )
I just saw over 30+ (around 32) american and japanese or chinese ppl most wear n' a nvidia ID badge but the old guy did not anyways something is up stay tuned to this space to find out i will UPDATE ASAP when i find whats going on...!!!
EDIT UPDATE Ok i have huge news Nvidia guys were here to ask for our experts they are going to California there is suppose to be a R&D team there or sumthing this is not the big news...

Okkk i have some nice dirt on amd.
HI i am someone you can know about me from ( http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2140685&enterthread=y )
Acording to the PR guys (Nvidia spys) the 3870 x2 rather being just a last stand for the HD3xxx series is actrally the step towards the new R700 that will also use two cores like the 3870 X2 does now.
So, Amd is right now learning from the 3870 X2 experiance for the new R700 design for heat issues and TDP rate, etc. "Just very brilliant i would say" they said the 9800 GX2 would not be opted by many companies on lieu of its rather high heat issues and would thusend up in a smaller number as compared to 3879 x2, so it is a up hill battle for 9800 GX2...!!!
But as you know those PR guys they allways end with their last word and i quote "As you all know the pre-exams of the new core have been done with it the R700 does not stand a chance as even we learn for experiance and we can say that one core is better than two in a world where games are not properly utilized for twin GPU execution. Besides more than 50% game maker's prefer nvidia over amd..."
Hi all i am someone who works in XFX india as a as the xfx testing lab is in the same building i get to see the latest xfx products at work the guys in the testing lab also dont mind and so just 2 days ago i saw a nvidia 9800 something on the work roster so i knew it was in the lab for testing so i searched the net and someone told me in a forum that it must be a 9800x2 so after i read inqurer about http://en.expreview.com/?p=184 i got the power to check it out when everyone was gone i went to the lab and one of the computer was running a game demo reel or something i pressed esc but notting i restarted the thing and then used my zen stone to download GPUZ about which i got the idea from http://en.expreview.com/?p=184 and then simply did a google on gpuz 1.5 and took the picture by installing Quick capture software...
About the test computer its athlon x2 4800+, ram is 1.5 GB of RAM microsoft windows xp professional version 2002 service pack 2 registered to node6 then a serial number this is according to left clicking the my computers icon and then going to properties.
THIS IS THE LINK TO THE GPUZ PICTURE BELOW;;;-

Dont know how to show on forum.
Dudewithoutapet thanks for the fix to link"

What do you guys think? She sounds legit/oblivious/naive to me
Latest version is 0.1.7, is GT200 even in the database? I mean the new G92-420 core was just added ...
The CPU score is ridiculously high. Core revision should be very early and to be honest, this benchmark isn't worth crap. If the card performs this well at this stage, it's actually tremendously good since it will only get better with future revisions. I can't imagine that PCB is even completely finished.
But then we have the fact that the drivers are working so well that the card can score 16,000 points in 3DMark 06 at 2560x.... that's just bull:banana::banana::banana::banana:.
NVIDIA can't even make the drivers for 9800GX2 work properly, how the hell are they going to make the drivers for "GT200" work, which isn't even a proper code name.
Someone is screwing with you. A media-whore is what we call these persons in Sweden... lame attention-seeking bastards willing to do anything for a minute in the spotlight. Just let it go.
Future is multi-core anyway ;)
//Andreas
3DMark06 resolution is obviously 1280x1024...
See there's the number "4" visible of the benchmark res in 3DMark main window.
This has BS written all over it. If the resolution is 2560x1600 why is there a "4" where the resolution goes? Look at the part I circled. This is just some idiot with nothing better to do and is trying to fake scores. It looks like the resolution was set a 1280x1024. Teh score is probably from SLI 8800GTS 512 with a stock clocked Q6700.
http://xs224.xs.to/xs224/08094/bs635.jpg
I'm going to call BS.
anyone know the answer to this:
I don't know 3D Mark so I would like to ask if the sum of those three scores is suppose to be 16646 because 6959+6507+5272=18738.
good point. more evidence it could be fake!
Jared I hardly doubt that it's a she ( ...maybe shemale :D ), but there's no doubt it's fake ;)
Edit:
No Jared, it's not like that.
The total score ain't the sum of the category scores.
P.S. You're "talking" with people that run 3D Mark06... how many times a day or week here...
Final score is not a sum ever
Check out this thread for all your 3d06 score calculation needs. The final score isn't simply a sum of the three lesser ones.
well yeah i didnt' know. was just asking, cuz it could be evidence it's a fake.
Score should be 16161 based on the sub-scores according to the calculator.
someone else at anand pointed out that a q6600/q6700 at stock couldn't score over 5000 points for the cpu score, and that it would most likely be around ~3500
Yah looks like fake, why would someone go through all the trouble of making :banana::banana::banana: like this up and then pretending to be a female.
how gay
She pointed out it was taken in the lab. Who knows what they use there. They must have drivers for this card there as XFX is a great Nvidia partner. I'm not saying I believe it, but Nvidia like another company hide many secrets. Yes she looks so naive if she is really she, who knows. If this come to be true Nvidia will definitely penalize XFX for this fact as it was one of them as she has said. It is hard to believe on the story. I personally do not believe it but who really knows as the competition is really keen to.
Metroid.
I keep on checking and this thread isn't closed yet......someone please put it out of it misery....
it's gotta be much faster than this. This chip should make crysis playable at max settings in dx 10. At least 60fps in 1680*1050
LOL! I laugh at anyone who takes bits of metal and plastic that bloody die hard seriously. Damn chill out and get a life for your own sake.
But I'll comment on it. ;)
Most westerners have no clue about India or Indian people so they don't understand them whatsoever. Ask Karan (Kidoman) he'll know. Don't apply your cultural norms to theirs, not alike in any way.
Shes definitely a he. Women in India don't typically chat like that nor take interest in 3d looping a program, nor posting at such forums, LOL.
Next, the things hes saying do not make any sense. If he knows that much you bet he would know much more than the stuff he's claiming (about computers) trying to act a total novice. The Indians that do know this info are like Anand himself, they have much knowledge, expert level. This guy is someone whose been reading up a lot of forum posts but lacks much technical knowledge.
CPU score and resolution is fake (clearly fully ps).
This is definitely BS, at least +95% of it. But by whats written down it looks like bits of those info are actually from knowledgeable sources and the rest are concocted to make a complete story. Maybe 1% of that is actual, I can't say. Very highly, to me, it looks like he's stealing details from someone that he doesn't understand (an engineer) and reporting it claiming it for himself for nothing but fame. I'm sure he's got nothing to do with it, he may be security at a place which has such info accessible and had one bit of real info and made all the rest up. It's very very common there.
And yes that does sound like a PC addict Indian youth looking for attention.
jaredpace: IDK if that akshyt guy mentioned there was lying or talking crap about his system nor his last posts nor can I be bothered to search who was correct but I'll tell you one thing for sure: anyone who doesn't know screwdrivers cannot be bought in places all over the South East and Africa has lived up a deep inverted abyss all their life. They need to get off their screen and grow some experience and some factual knowledge of the world and not just of US/UK/CAN/AUS. ;)
closed yet?
This = fake.
Development next gen out in the hands of developers? True.
Do they know the code name? No. Developers are rarely told what core is on the cards they receive. That's one of the reasons there was such rumors flying around the 7900GTX/G71, because developers received G80's way before the G71 released and led to people believing those cards were the G71.
Now, someone with the balls to leak it? False. Seriously, no one has the balls to leak a card early, unless their names aren't officially part of the company and on the paper. The backlash for breaking NDA in these cases can hurt a company like no other, last thing you want to do as a developer is hurt your relationship with the people who make the hardware that runs you software.
If something leaks, it's going to be a lot closer to launch time, when the parts are in more hands than just developers.
3DM01 and 03 are technically summed, but the FPS of each test is subject to a multiplier first.
3DMark01 score=
(Game Test 1 Low + Game Test 2 Low + Game Test 3 Low) x 10 +
(Game Test 1 High + Game Test 2 High + Game Test 3 High + Nature) x 20
3DMark03 score =
(Game Test 1 frame-rate x 7.3) +
(Game Test 2 frame-rate x 37) +
(Game Test 3 frame-rate x 47.1) +
(Game Test 4 frame-rate x 38.7)
3DMark05 score =
[(Game Test 1 frame-rate + Game Test 2 frame rate + Game Test 3 frame rate)/3] x 250
3DM06 is a b*****d to work out, best way is to use a picture:
