this sucks. o well. can't really do anything about it.
I don't know what all of you were expecting. Nvidia doesn't have any competition right now(much like intel). Expect more mediocrity in the future until competition arises.
Wow...lame...it's almost as if nVidia wants to give way to ATI. ATIs solutions with the multi-gpu card was better than NV...and this card is just the suck, spec-wise.
so what?Quote:
Nvidia doesn't have any competition right now
so they make cheaper/crippled cards.
and say amd ("the competitor")disappeared from the scene...then what will nvidia and intel do? decrease product development and increase prices:clap:
retarded,
but if they making plenty of money then they can do wotever they like
upgrading changes back to 3-4 years vs 2 for me; upgrade market must be pitifully small.
i say 8800gtx will live for another year  maybe ill buy one just b4 g100 is launched
QFT... you can bet that nVidia R&D has not been sitting idle for the last 18 months. They have a beast waiting in the wings for the day AMD get's their act together. Right now, they are doing what they should and milking all possible profit from their existing architecture before it's day is done.
BTW, how do we know that GPU-Z shot is real? Screen shots are the easiest thing to photochop ever! How about the owner show us a pic of that card in their system along with a bench?!
GAY GPU GAAAAAAAY
im not surprised...............we knew this.

Oh dear, that would be a downgrade to my BFG GTX... lol. So what now ?
This is effing Unbelievable, almost every thing on the 9800GTX is lower then the 8800GTX, the ROPs, Text/Pix Fillrate, Bandwidth. I think I will buy another 8800GTX, or 9800GX2.
When does R700 comes out ? 2009 ??
I can definitely see nvidia bringing out a 9900GTX around Christmas time now. *sigh*
looks more like a 9800gts than anything....why would they make everything worse than the previous generation but a few higher clocks speeds?
I think ill buy this one instead http://www.gainward.com/product/prod...roducts_id=155
and call it 9800 Ultra,lol!
no dx 10.1 support ?
Well think of the positives.
NO, don't rush me.
Ok, positves are that it might allow a lot of people to taste the old GTX at a far better price. Also, people with GTX / Ultra have a card which will still be good for them with no pressure to upgrade so making it a very good purchase.
I'm struggling here :p:
Shame it has not got 160 stream processors to justify the 9 series moniker. I don't like the 9800GTX x2 or whatever it is called either, not keen on 2 gpu cards.
I do however like the 9600GT. The 8600GT/S was always weedy but the 9600 with 64sp is very well balenced with it's 256bit bus. When the prices come down it will be a lot better value than one of these. It will be interesting to compare price and performance of SLI 9600 against this 9800GTX, both having similar specs then.
Regards
Andy
I would be interested to know why they made the PCB so much bigger as it appears it's just an OC'ed GTS512.
Man this is turning out to be a huge dissapointment, i was laying off the gt and gts for this now im thinking ill just grab a gts
For 400-450 Euro I think.
I've had plans to upgrade my sistem with 9800 GTX, but now I think it's better to buy 8800 GTX or wait for G100 or R700.
I think this time Nvidia made a fool of us:mad: When there is no competition, the result is like this one:shakes:
Iv been waiting months for a upgrade, now this :bananal: :bananal: :bananal:
