Any proof? Or just talking crap?
EDIT:
Also, I see measurable improvements from even overclocking my PCI-E bus. Even when I ran a geforce2 i got improvements from upping the AGP speed to 75mhz.
Aging, or ageing (British English)
nope still with the e!
just a random exception to our silly language :)
cool card=]
run on a cheapo ASrock + cheap core duo dual core would be nice
Common Buses and their Max Bandwidth
PCI 132 MB/s
AGP 8X 2,100 MB/s
PCI Express 8x 2000 MB/s technically doubled as the information is serial so it's both directions
PCI Express 16x 4000 MB/s
I think it was?
and then link speed well I think it's kinda self explanatory isn't it with the "x8 x16" etc..
I have a dothan that would love that card
hey even my shuttle would get a new lease of life too
wonder the price of it here tho ?
Seriously now, what tardbucket would buy this product?
When I worked in a computer shop last year AGP X1950PRO's sold so well that I imagine these will do just as well.
All the people who wanted one of these I've talked to had Athlon XP systems, I told them to get a X1950pro instead as they would never see the difference :D
This could be understandable in a overclocked Athlon X2 system, but those are not too common with AGP either. BTW, any who would buy one of these would be no as much a "tardbucket" as those who bought a 7950GX2 for quad Sli on the eve of the G80.
You have a PCI slot on there too, so you could get allot more imaginative than that :P
what in the hell are you talking about? if you're talking about the latency hit and data coherency problems that limit expansion device support like a sound card working well on pci-e, thats a good point, but it in no way affects the video card, which primarily just needs bandwidth...
I fail to see the advantage for most keeping old CPU's and inferior RAM and duct tape and bubble gum a new GPU in there. A good system is about balance.
Give that old system away and buy a decent system, rather that having a franken-rig that just sucks alittle less than it did before.
who is going to buy this? what old pentium or athlon 64 wouldnt bottleneck it?
If the price is right, would be a great upgrade to my Dothan rig.
first benching on it by AsRock 865Conroe + QX6700@3.0GHz :D
3k06 - 11815Mark wow

some game benched by COH on 1600x1200res. :D

btw. one question or give some ideal from all, How do you thing for testing it on review, i should used P4 cpu for real old-school performance or some small conroe cpu ? Thanks :)
Omfg
nice score with CPU and RAM speed ,,
Keep pushing it !! :pimp:
I might buy one for my PIII-S rig, overclocked it wont be a bottleneck, the PIIIs were P6 (Core) CPUs anyway. :)
i dont understand this, i had no idea agp was still in use!
ROFL 3ghz kentsfield + 1gb ddr1 :D
Nice score though.
My son has a dying X800XTPE in his rig along with an FX-53/1GB Corsair and runs his virtual Trainz 2004 everyday. Maybe along with this card upgrade to 2GB ram and a Opty 186 (939) and his trains should run extremely smooth @ 1600x1200 on the Dell 2001fp. I don't think the Antec Trueblue 480 would be able to handle it all though. Might have to get another Corsair 520W modular.
It's cheaper than replacing the whole rig anyway.
AGP goes "Uuuuuuugggggghhhhhh bbbrrrrraaaaaiiiinnnnsssss"
We need to make a new Resident Evil: AGP Chronicles
Hi everyone, Uh I have a question here.
Im runing a Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.35ghz, my ram is running at 470mhz
How much of a bottleneck would I get with this set up? 1gb 2x512mb 470mhz
I thought Athlon 64 > P4 so what kinda performance could I expect? Not sure it is worth upgrading or not if I wont see a big improvement.
I wouldn't bother if I were you. Your CPU and RAM will both be big bottlenecks. It makes no sense to match a modern GPU with such hardware.
A lot of the latest games require a dual core CPU and 2GB of RAM to run well.
Nowadays you can get a completely new platform for around $150, you can probably make half of that back by selling your old stuff on Ebay. That, plus the fact that PCI-E versions are cheaper than AGP, means you've hardly spent any extra, and got a completely up to date platform to boot.
