If you are having problems booting at 1:1 over 500FSB how about booting below 500 1:1 and then raising it with software within windows? Have you tried this?
I think it may be your cpu, but until you do something like that you will not know for sure.

Is good E8400 that can stay RS 4200 near 1,32 - 1,35 volt
Never done 5ghz yet, board is not cooperating. I suspect my rams tho - they run very well for PC 6400 rated rams but they have limiits - especially since I don't want to give them more than 2.5v and fry them. My temps around 4.8ghz (with windows open (about 22C ambient) is around 34-38 idle. Can't say what full load is since I've never stressed the cpus at that speed.Quote:

sb = 32 to 35
first time i primed i set 1.63v northbridge and system blackscreened after 6hrs. upped to 1.65 and reboot after 8hrs. do you know how to tweak these fsbt and ppl and gtl settings?
am loving the memory bandwidth tho. @ 500fsb and 1200mhz @ 5-5-5-5-3-35-6-3 am getting 9680mb/s in sandra
Looks like you're on your way there buddy :up: From my own experience, cpupll is key to avoiding problems on maximus formula and my E8400. My cpupll voltage is set to 1.50v, yes 1.50v for all my overclocks including the 4.9Ghz overclock.Quote:

i tested the ram and it passed prime. its when i upped the cpu multiplier that she acted up but those settings i posted passed 10hrs small ffts. will aim higher today and when i find a sweet spot(high clock vs temps) i will prime 24hrs. but thats... if i loosen timings i get reboots. they want to be tightened to work at this speed.
