Very clean, I like it!
Nice layout concept. Well done so far.
Looking good until now
Letīs see whatīs next...:D
Updates in the original post, dated 1/23/08...
Large update this time, over a dozen pics added. Some are of my new P35 board and Wolfdale. Case mods are done, so after a few more parts arrive, it's time to get this build done.
Enjoy... :toast:
i read some where you cant mount pump like that just a warning
Really? Crap. :(
Pump is just fine like that. as long as fresh water flows freely into the pump(as it does from res with the way you have it set up), then you are ok. Just no inlet-facing-down-mounts.
Thanks - I thought the gravity feed from the res would be optimal, which is why I settled on this layout. I'll know pretty quickly if it isn't going to work when I fill and do the leak test.
Wow thats cool. I must say from experience, putting the triple rad on the bottom of the case is probably the hottest thing since sliced bread. It tucks away nicely.
Lookin good so far
keep it up
That looks awesome! Can't wait to see it completed!
Very neat and tidy! Puts my (in progress) Soprano hack to shame! ;)
Updates in post #2, dated 1/27/08...
Made some good progress today and got a lot of stuff done (18 new pictures)...next update coming later in the week.
Awesome loop layout. Couldnt have done it better.
Looking forward to the finish.
wow!!! I WANT THAT CASE NOW!!
looking good!
more please!
Thanks for all the compliments! :D
I have two questions for anyone following this thread...comments/opinions appreciated.
1. What's the best way to eliminate the flat spot on the run from the FuZion to the MCW30?
I'm using 1/2" Primoflex, which does work pretty well. As noted elsewhere in the thread, I did already shorten the run by ~2" which helped, but I think going further than that will make it worse. The other option is to make it a lot longer, which I'd like to avoid.
2. According to Martin's Flow Rate Estimator, the loop should flow about 1.08GPM at 4.5PSI with my D5 vario on setting 5. That plots into the "good" area on Martin's graph, but is that going to be enough?
During the last update, I posted pics of the blending I did to the outlet port on my D5, which should help flow slightly. For comparison, Martin's estimator shows a DDC 3.2 with Petra's top flowing 1.16GPM at ~5PSI. Two D5's (setting 5) in series would get it up to 1.5GPM @ 8.4PSI, two DDC-3.2's w/DDCT-01s tops would be 1.6GPM @ 9.4PSI. I'm going to run it as it and observe performance, but even assuming it performs well, what could I expect to gain with a .5GPM increase in flow?
I happen to be doped up after some surgery I underwent this morning, so if I missed something or I'm not making sense...well that's probably a factor.
Edit:
Errr...probably should have included the final loop config:
EK Multioption RES150
Laing D5 Vario, setting 5, outlet transition blended
Swiftech MCR320
Coolingworks CoolRad 22T (used MCR220 in Martin's FRE)
EK FC-8800 (G80)
Swiftech MCW30
Dtek FuZion, washer and 5.5mm nozzle
Pump -> MCR320 -> FC-8800 -> CR22T -> FuZion -> MCW30 -> RES150 -> Pump
FWIW - I'm running Scythe S-Flex SFF21F fans (1600RPM @ 12v). They'll be controlled by a Sunbeam rheobus, and I expect to keep them around 9v, but maybe as low as 7v.
awesome.... *jawdrop*
Methodical and clean. I like it.
Oh, and get well soon?!
i like how u have the pump mounted, most ppl leave it sitting at the bottom making everything look sloppy. looks promising
I am loving this thread and enjoy seeing the updates. I have a question regarding some of the items you have used, on the bottle it looks like some form of black mesh, is that the radiator or did you something else? I have been thinking of using modders mesh on a project.
Good Luck Bleeding With Pump Mounted Like That
very nice!
Thanks! I'm not sure what you mean though...on the bottom? No modder's mesh on this one, but I've used it a couple times in the past:
My 2006 project....round hole mesh up front with a 1x120 rad (sorry for the extreme angled shot).

My 2007 project....hex mesh with 2x120 rad.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to it either. I knew up front that it would be a challenge.
Yep that's the honeycomb type modders mesh in that last shot.
Ok, so you arn't using any of that this time
